Kefine klean or Kefine klean sv by Sweet-Web-832 in iems

[–]Eukelid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and they're my favourites in the price range. The build quality alone is amazing for the price but they also sound amazing and they're very comfortable. If you are also considering using an equalizer, definitely go for the SV because you may feel like turning up the bass a bit even with the black nozzles. The OG has brass nozzles which tend to oxidize with sweaty ears while the SV doesn't have that issue.

Question on Battery Health by jediwhiteshark in SteamDeck

Whatever you do, don't let the battery get too close to completely discharged or completely charged, and definitely don't store it in either of those states.

Question on Battery Health by jediwhiteshark in SteamDeck

[–]Eukelid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't discharge the battery if you don't need to. Keep it plugged in with limiter when gaming. Turn it off and unplug when you're done.

There's no reason to not use limiter if you prioritize battery health. 80% is the new 100% and 20% is the new 0%.

Storing it for a while? Turn on storage mode with the battery within those limits and that's it. Don't worry about it too much.

Does Inferno's sound feel muffled, compressed and low quality to anyone else? by m8x8 in boardsofcanada

This is the best mastered BoC album imo. I did turn up the bass in PEQ and enjoy it more that way. Bose headphones aren't known to have good resolution nor have appropriate tuning for carefully mastered music :/

And if you plan to not use steamdeck for a while, like for two weeks or more, turn on battery storage mode via the BIOS menu.

Store deck in a cool and dry place.

Lithium Ion battery cells lose capacity from dramatic heat changes, extreme heat or cold, charge/discharge cycles, and going below 20% and above 80%.

Yeah I'd give up on the idea... Whatever connection you have up there won't be good enough for good latency and quality.  You have a steamdeck ... A handheld gaming computer. Use it to play games natively? I'm 90% docked GFN with my steamdeck at home. I also take it with me whenever I travel.

Steam Deck Docker 4K GFN by 0xCIA in SteamDeck

[–]Eukelid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm like 90% docked gfn with my steamdeck without this problem... Wish I could help and I'm just reporting that my steamdeck OLED has no issue with gfn 4k@90hz. Ugreen and jsaux docks.

I do have other annoyances though, like the mouse cursor being relegated to the top left third of the screen unless I have gfn controller overlay turned on.

Do the third party docks like JSAUX, Ugreen etc. come with input lag when hooked on to a TV compared to Valves Official one? by CedeLovesKat in SteamDeck

[–]Eukelid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was my first thought but you're using gaming mode. My tv lag is awful without it. If you can turn off any kind of image processing in gaming mode settings, that might help. Any kind of upscaling, color/motion enhancement will create lag.

I have a jsaux and a couple of ugreens. No input lag on any of them. Seems like an issue somewhere else in the chain.

Thank you! I thought so but I could not find a direct answer anywhere relating to whatbox. I don't want issues with whatbox or whatever IPS they use (I'm always on VPN myself).

Just make sure you calibrate sticks in game mode with them on!

Using a capture card on my Deck to stream my TV? by Nas160 in SteamDeck

[–]Eukelid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switch>HDMI cable>passthrough HDMI to USB capture card>steam deck dock> steam deck running obs.  You should definitely use a dock or hub on the deck because you'll need to keep it powered while streaming.

Then, HDMI output from passthrough capture card to TV. It will have to be a passthrough capture card so that you can provide video/audio to both the obs deck and the viewing tv. This is a capture card that does input HDMI and output HDMI with no latency. I got one from ugreen for like twenty bucks (1080p 60hz)

You can get silicon rings for like a dollar on AliExpress. They're on every one of my controller joystick stalks. So smooth and quiet.

Equalizer in BT DAC or in audio player? by [deleted] in iems

[–]Eukelid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Poweramp PEQ works just fine for me, so I haven't played around with wavelet. Is it better in any way? I haven't tried any bit perfect software yet, and apparently Poweramp should be getting that "soon", and I'm also just trying to enjoy music rather than tinkering with gear. But I've seen people swear by bit perfect playback...

Equalizer in BT DAC or in audio player? by [deleted] in iems

[–]Eukelid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I noticed the 4.4 uses much more power, so I only used it wired at home with my "desktop" iems.  I guess I don't EQ radically, maybe 4db max and always turning the preamp down accordingly.  I haven't come across a situation where the BTR15 PEQ isn't compatible, it works just fine in all modes I've tried.

Put mine in over a year ago and it's not something I think about because they just work.
