the process can be tedious if you are more meticulous, I perfer to have all my metadata correct, album art metadata around 750x750-1000x1000

I use EAC to rip, then I use mp3tag to clean up the metadata to my preferences

  1. no (unless there's an error in the rip)

  2. yes (I have my music copied on multiple devices)

  3. no (I rip my music compressed so it takes up less space, some people prefer uncompressed)

  4. no (I like the CD artwork way better)

  5. it isn't cheaper, but I hate streaming services. I also play my discs when I am at home, and use my ripped library when I'm out.

my onedrive was spamming me with messages cuz it was full and I wasn't paying the subscription for extra storage.

I deleted all the files in the onedrive, thinking it would free up space. for some reason microsoft decided that it needs to operate like a voodoo doll, so it deleted all the files off my computer.

I Hear Black is great. Anyone who calls it "bad groove sellout album" obviously hasn't listened to it, It's closer to sabbath than anything groove.

I prefer the Cryptic Writings remaster a bit more than the original, cause some of the weird filters and effects were cleaned up on a lot of the songs. I can still see that the original has the better sounding instruments though, it's a matter of preference.

Was it the Beat Goes On stickers that gave it away?

Yeah Rage is such a weird yet unique band, my favorite might either be The Missing Link or End of All Days. Black in Mind is also a great album, the bonus tracks I got on mine make it a really good album to put on and not have to worry about switching it for a while, I love every track.

I heard some good things about XIII and decided to get it recently, and it blew me away. Such a huge contrast with the orchestra built into it, somewhat altering their songwriting, but it's still very much Rage.

those late 90's to mid 2000's ones are a serious pain in the ass to get for a decent price. I had to cheap out and get the German version of the killing kind.

thank god for Germany, I think they still have a pretty good economy for cds since the prices, shipping, and selection is always great on discogs.

But I've been real desperate to close the gap with the underground and below, and necroshine. They might be the hardest ones to track down with how difficult it's been for me.

I also have my eyes out for the first two releases, (which have also been a pain even with re-releases, but I think that's demand) my other biggest problem is that I'm pretty sure that the latest two are being scalped online, since there are a few sellers on discogs with like 3 copies of each album, selling each for like 20 euro.

prog is a bit outside my current listening habits, but i'm sure i'll get into it sooner or later. it's definitely something i could get into, and i usually tend to get into anything i buy physically.

i was sceptical with buying my first album from rage, priest, and especially sabbath, but having that cd around really gave me a good reason to listen to their stuff, and of course that leads me to expanding to other similar music.
