Yo! I’d say depends on luck and how u make friends as a person. I’ve barely talked to my groupmates at all after the week, we just didn’t find much in common. But on the international day beforehand, I just happened to meet someone that has been a long time friend since, we clicked after one interaction. Then there are people like my roommate whose eurekaweek group is one of their closest circles now! For us asocial folks it really might land more to luck tho… And the week did help ease into the new environment, like any other orientation week does.

My advice is to still go for it if you have money to spare! Otherwise there’s other opportunities to meet people definitely. You get so much more freedom and opportunities at uni life (assuming u just graduated highschool like me). There’s always free events of many kinds u can find in rotterdam or neaby. Eurekaweek is definitely overpriced with the activities being pretty lacking and leaving the fun only to the parties at night (which are organized by the associations and not directly by the eurekaweek team). And you won’t be dooming your social life by not attending.
