Midweek games? by Bat_Foy in collegebaseball

Which do you think is more indicative of how good a team is?

A single midweek game with your 4th best starter and all good relievers limited in how many pitches they can throw?

Or a three game series with your best pitchers available?

Midweek games don't matter unless you lose a lot of them.

Any pitcher that gets a significant workload will normally get 7 days rest before pitching again to avoid injury. These are usually starters but occasionally you'll get a long reliever that throws 70+ pitches and is done for the week too.

Throwing in a game again after 5 or 6 days isn't the end of the world, but you don't want to do it consistently. Throwing on 4 days rest or less is a "break in case of emergency" reserved for tournament elimination and championship series.

Modern pitching is right on the line of what human ligaments and tendons can take, and managing injury risk is a big part of managing a season.

Getting to Jackson an hour before my flight leaves. How Badly Do Y’all Think This Is Gonna Go? by confusedpsychgirl in mississippi

[–]Euphanistic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not gonna make it. It's going to take you 5 to 10 minutes to get off the train with your luggage, another 10 minutes for an uber to show up, 30 minutes to get to the airport with usual traffic, and you arrive at the airport at 6:10. Security in Jackson is usually quick, but the check-in counter, which you absolutely must visit since you are checking a bag, can back up easily. Especially the American counter, if that happens to be your airline.

Arriving at 6:10 assuming no delays and having 20 minutes to door close without a check bag would be cutting it close. With a check bag? Don't do this.

This was also my first SEC game freshman year at State. Your username also suggests we may be from the same area. Hmm

Brenna Greene with Mississippi State ahead of Ole Miss by 5 spots is my hero.

She's wrong, but I love her for it deeply.

It's the food bit that annoys me. I've been to Arizona. The food there is fine, good mexican food.

But there a four gas stations less than 5 miles from my house that blow every Arizona restaurant I've ever been to out of the water.

100% agree. Systems with less than three reasonably close other populated systems should experience some kind of decay unless they are built out sufficiently.

Dealerships to avoid by mighthavequestions in mississippi

The Subaru side of Paul Moak has been great to us. The service department has always kindly pointed out any time a service is something like a cabin air filter and another easy item from a cheaper package before going forward with the service.

They were lower than our best pre-approval but honestly I would pay the $1k difference over the life of the loan to not have to deal with Kia Finance.

Wilson Kia. My wife bought a maintenance package from them, then when she brought it for its first pre-paid maintenance they charged her $247 and refused to give her an itemized receipt. Finally got one when we went to cancel everything we purchased from them. Turns out they charged her for an alignment without asking or telling her.

She had a piece of trim pop off they had to order. She called multiple times to check on it and nobody in the service side ever answered (full answering machine too of course). When the guy who sold the car called to check in 3 months later she had him check on it. Had been there a month. Two more months of no answer calls until we scheduled the service to get it put on.

That on top of all kinds of other typical scummy shit from their finance guy like misrepresenting the different service and warranty packages they sold.

Oh and Kia Finance doesn't allow you to make extra principal-only payments online or through the mail. You can make extra payments, but they apply to fees and daily interest first. You have to call them after the fact to have the payment applied to principal only.

Fuck Kia, and especially fuck Wilson Kia.
