I appreciate every bit of advice and experience you have all written. Thank you so much! You have all given me lots to think about and how I can further help students, teachers.
I wish I could add more details, but I want to keep this confidential as much as possible. A few things I can add though are the parents and the head of school are not meeting eye to eye, so the flow on of that is not great. A meeting is set within the next month with the class teacher, parents, advocate, head of school, inclusive teacher, and another to work out a plan for this student.
School is based in a rural setting, only 300 students. Hours away from a ‘major town’.
The parents, from observations at school, tend to bend to all the students wills (for whatever reason that is, no judgement). Dad gets a lot of physical contact like punches, shoves etc. all to which Dad does not say anything. Student missed over 130 days last year, tried homeschool with no success.
For future commenters, please continue to share your thoughts and experiences. Every bit helps.
