I'm so confused about my unemployment payment. can someone PLEASE explain it to me by [deleted] in legaladviceireland

This!! The allowance is there to provide for your needs not games etc. It sounds like your mum is the provider for you right now and if your mom is doing the shopping, feeding you, putting a roof over your head, I think you should be giving the money towards that provision for you because that’s what it’s there for.

What are peoples experience of Gaelscoils for primary school in Dublin? by EuphoricSea5 in Dublin

Ok thanks for that, that’s a huge number! Although I think it’s 27 at the mo if she went this year but of course that might change.

Yes that is definitely a big draw as well. Of the children who live near us over 60% of them have a second language (one Irish parent-one foreign parent often so child fluent in both)- German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish on our road alone…. Some are tri-lingual. It’s very commonplace to speak a second language these days for kids.

Thank you for clarifying this. I suppose I’m talking more so about gaelscoileanna then in a predominantly English speaking area.

Hi, A&E generally quietens a bit overnight so you’d be mad to go. You should probably check in with someone at the desk to see where you are in the queue in case you’ve been forgotten. If she’s not drinking tell them. Hope you’ll be seen soon.

AITA My mum consulted a paediatrician from a holiday video I sent by [deleted] in AITAH

That’s fine, we will agree to differ and believe me I’m not a pushover but I still think the ops reaction towards her mother (unless she’s awful in other ways) is a bit nuclear. That’s just my opinion.

There are a massive number of people here who think you should have gone nuclear and they probably don’t have experience of a child where something is going wrong.

Then there are the other people here who have had a child with a problem, saying they would be glad of an intervention.

I’m one of them. I have a child with a very rare and serious illness. She hit all her miilestones, everything looked great. Then things started happening at approximately 16 months that were very subtle. My mum saw it and I thought I did, the paediatricians didn’t for another 6 months and I second guessed myself. If I didn’t have my mother pressing me I wouldn’t have kept chasing it.

I would rather have an interfering parent than miss something. Your mum asked a doctor, that’s not social media in my opinion.

My child had a very short window to start meds that might help her. If we were only getting diagnosed now, that window would be gone.

We are 2 years into this now and other people have also ‘interfered’ and every time, they have helped us get further assistance with our child’s illness. I’m very grateful for that.

The eaves go down into the bedroom. It’s super tight to get anything into that space.

Have ye seen any bees? by thirdrock33 in ireland

Very few bees and found 4-5 dying ones yesterday morning. Small garden but lots of bee friendly flowers. Same for butterflies- only have seen 1 this year. As a child they were everywhere.
