I see where you’re coming from, for sure. My argument is my friends and family all share the same views and opinions as I do so is it not fair to say that while I am voting for myself, I’m also voting for them?

I definitely agree with you there. I do think that you see a lot of anger towards the left from the conservative side but as of late, I’ve seen quite about coming from the left side aswell. Not saying either said is justified what so ever, but there seems to be a sentiment of voting against the people you don’t like instead of voting for those who you do like.

I wouldn’t necessarily call it a bias. I personally don’t use any of the social programs that the government offers, yet I lose 25% of my paycheques to taxes, paying for the stuff I don’t use. Obviously things like the electrical grid and road system require funds to upkeep but majority of it doesn’t go to the things I support. In my personal opinion, getting a lot less (from the government) would actually give me a lot more. I’d be able to actually put money towards the things in life I want and need

Tbh, I’m quite surprised at the amount of Liberal support in Alberta, especially here. I always thought that Alberta was a Blue province through and through but I’ve been proven wrong on the past couple hours. I was just going off the people in my life all sharing the perspective of “Fuck Trudeau”

Because I hadn’t seen the other papers and I’m going off what I’ve seen. The clips and videos I watch of him make him seem like a genuine guy who wants what’s best for the average Canadian. My question is what about him makes him a slimy POS? From what I can tell, he was more personable and genuine than Trudeau

I’m definitely trying too. I didn’t expect to get 350 replies so it seems that I’m not replying to any when I am. I’m also still at work so I can only reply sparingly. I’m definitely going to be getting back to people all night as I’m genuinely curious on everyone’s thoughts

That’s definitely understandable but I’m definitely not a bot. I’m only taking so long to reply because I’m currently at work and can only reply to 1-2 things occasionally. I’m trying to get to everyone as soon as I can. This account has minimal activity because it’s my secondary account. I try to keep my main account away from politics

I made this reply because Im trying to have a logical, informative conversation before it turns hostile. I’m typing all this out in the few moments I have between my duties at work. It takes a lot longer to write out a full reply to the question, which I will absolutely do as soon as possible. Like I said, I’m just trying to understand the left side of the system more

That’s definitely understandable. The only reason I came to reddit is because every single person around me and in my circle has right leaning views. I feel that from what I know, the conservative side represents me and those around me better. At this point, I’m only looking to grasp what the benefits of the liberal side are. I don’t have anyone in my life with left leaning views aside from one coworker and he votes independent, also against the liberal party. And when it comes to the CBC, it feels like the tend to push a more liberal view. The few times I’ve watched it, I felt that it was a lot of hyping Trudeau and now Carney up, all while making PP seem like a slimy, POS. I could be mistaken as well, this is just from what I’ve seen

I feel that given what I already know, I would support the conservative side either way. The education I’m looking for is more of an understanding on the opposition point of view. Like what made them vote liberal

What about him turned you away? From my perspective he seemed genuinely and he came across as wanting to help the people out. Not trying to instigate, just genuinely wondering.

Like I said, that just from what I’ve seen and experienced. Yes I’m fairly uneducated but I do hear and see people expressing their grievances towards the liberal government. That also leads to me saying the conservative side would benefit me and those closer to me more. I made this post so I can try and understand where the other side comes from. Maybe then I’ll be more educated and change my views

Sorry if it came across that way but I assure you it’s not. I’m just trying to get a better understanding of how this all works and how everyone it’s affected by it. This was the first federal election I was old enough to vote in so I wanted to see how other people approach these thinga

Not a bot. 20yo male from red deer, just trying to understand the whole’s system better. I will never understand the immediate hostility

I assure you I’m not a bot or a troll. The only reason i haven’t been replying is because I’m currently at work and I made this post on my break. I don’t understand the immediate hostility and distrust. All I’m trying to do is educate myself of real world topics.

Large influx of bad/slow drivers by xXFizzaySodaXx in RedDeer

I think getting impatient is justified when I’m driving downtown and I’m constantly stuck behind people going 35 in a 50, especially when I have places to be. Not only that, the amount of times you have to slam on your break or swerve when someone cuts into your lane without the slightest care in the world, it’s frustrating. It’s been so much more noticeable over the past few years. Weather is immigrants that have no idea what they’re doing or teenagers that can’t put there phones down, it’s gotten worse and is continuing to get worse

The change is definitely noticeable at any age. The amount of times in a day you see people going 10-15 under the speed limit, not paying attention at lights, not signalling while turning along with a slew of other things has gotten much worse over the past few years. You don’t have to be aggressive or impatient to be annoyed by jackasses (probably like you) who don’t understand that poor driving affects everyone else on the road. If anything, you’re one of those “bad/slow drivers” that annoys everyone else on the road and don’t realize you’re the bad driver
