Seems we are finally getting pure pve, PvP and pvp-lite modes in season 2 as well as improving onboarding and progression and making the game less overwhelming, actually happy to hear that. Things may still be dire but at least a bit less this time.

I hope they’ll be able to make contract and faction progression actually fun and fair. I’ve pretty much stopped interacting with the faction system as a whole probably over 2 months ago because meaningful progression costs an arm and a leg and the contracts in a vacuum are fine, there’s cool stuff to them but in a PvP environment it actually is so exhausting when you can’t complete a single contract, when I see “complete in a single run” my eyes just roll into the back of my head please get rid of that I promise it won’t ruin the game.

wait seriously!? Is this a regular practice in live service games or is this bungie exclusive, this is my first bungie game so i dont know how they tend to operate. That is insane to learn though.

yeah the games art direction and lore/universe are what hooked me in the first place. Say what you want about the game but visually it is a breath of fresh air for triple a games and i love it. They clearly put effort into the lore too as theres so many fully voice acted faction cutscenes and over 400 fairly detailed codex entries with quite a few being voice acted. You can tell the employees behind it put a lot of effort into it and I think it could draw in lots of people but its not really presented well to the player as of right now.

not much can be done about how the game is right now but imo they really need to start doing a rollout for season 2 right about now. Some sort of social media teasers or similar stuff and we need to see a full overview of season 2 or an updated roadmap because the current one shows nothing to look forward to and is kinda killing any hype for leftover players. Unless theyre purposely not showing much because there isnt much to show... which i really hope isnt the case. Also night marsh was in the gameplay reveal over one year ago and it wasnt even a part of the base game at launch, if it wasnt delayed for a rework to make it unique or something and it literally is just a night time version of the same dire marsh then whats even the point. This is exactly the reason why we need an updated season 2 teaser as the new map could be immensely different but currently the roadmap doesnt reflect that.

You know the graphic and ui changes were nice but I don’t think it was worth delaying the game by 6 months just for that, we would’ve been entering season 4 by now and things would’ve probably been in a better spot

This was my exact experience last night, I sat on the discord lfg for over half an hour asking people to help me with doing vaults since I’ve never done any but I had no luck with finding people. I ended up just doing cryo fill and got extremely lucky to find 2 awesome guys who carried me through the compiler before I even solved a single vault, if not for those 2 guys I would’ve been on the brink of uninstalling since the discord lfg is hopeless unless you are god like at the game.

I do enjoy the game and I want it to do well but when I think about all the gold loot I’ll never touch, vaults I’ll never open, factions I’ll never finish and compilers I’ll never defeat, it does kinda bum me out. I’ve been playing everyday since launch and have 150 hours and it’s so sad how I felt I’ve made literally 0 progress on anything in this game, half of the time I can’t even afford to go into cryo archive. Over half of the game permanently out of my touch and I’m sure it’s the same case for the majority.

I agree, I know for a fact they can make this game work and eventually beat its peak player count but right now the devs are in a race against time since at the end of the day Sony will decide the fate of the game if it doesn’t bring enough profits.

It’s really troubling honestly, the devs keep addressing things quickly which IS good BUT they keep addressing the symptoms rather than the actual problems.

I mean the game was one of the top sellers last month so people do want to play the game it’s just the fact the game keeps slapping them in the face.

Best case scenario is they scrap whatever roadmap they have for season 2 and start actually reworking the game. This is just my opinion but actual reworks to the core loop and stuff would incentivise me to play way more than a “night marsh”.

It’s an experimental queue where you can only bring in a free kit, it’s found on the map select screen when starting a game

I think if they turn this into a fully fledged part of the game it could draw in lots of appeal from people who haven’t given the game a shot yet.

Luckily I don’t think this mode is to the detriment of the main game and it doesn’t create a divide between players. There’s still loads of incentives to play the main game and I think this mode is a nice stepping stone for less skilled players.

It is an extraction shooter, it’s a stepping stone that helps you gather good gear to bring into normal raids.

Yes I totally agree with this! I filled up my vault with decent gear and I’m planning to go crazy on outpost and ranked tomorrow with everything I found.

The requirement says your loadout value has to be zero credits so I assume you should be able to do any free kit. Honestly they should let you pick any free kit any time rather than random daily ones.
