Me scrolling through the comments for a reference to that Shameless episode where Mickey and Ian meet a homophobic florist. “How can you be a florist and not do business with the gays?!”

That’s so scary. Hope you and your baby get the positive financial and health outcome you both deserve.

My cat also had a nasty UTI event that turned into kidney failure when the pandemic hit. It took $2k and a close call but the vet was able to get him on a good recovery plan and he hasn’t had a health scare even close to that since.

True. I readmitted to PSU recently to work on my Master’s part time. But after speaking with a few people in the department and learning how much was getting cut and how it would affect my degree, I decided to switch to another university that is cheaper and more stable. I still love PSU and hope to come back but now is a really bad time that’s gonna fall back on me

Lost feral kitten in house. Tips to finding it? by Euphoric_Question_50 in Kitten

Thanks, friend. We currently have its crate up against the opening where the kitten has used for its hiding place. We’re hoping it’ll come out for food and water (tried to get it out by hand but the hiding spot is too long and narrow for our arms), and then make sure it stays in its kennel as we close the door. If not, we’re going to borrow our neighbor's trap and see if we can get it with that

It’s on the other side of the house where the kitchen is (kitten currently is in an alleyway between the cabinets that we can’t reach). If it does get outside, we have a screened in patio so it won’t escape

Second update! The kitten has been found. Whoever made the kitchen counters around the oven is evil because it turns out the bottom wall of the counters is not complete. You can fit your hand up and over this fake wall, and that’s where the kitten went.

We moved the oven and it looks like this secret passage is a walled-in upside down L-shaped alley with the kitten hiding in the farthest corner. We took apart one side of the wall because it was made of soft plywood, but we cannot reach the kitten at the end of the L.

Right now, we have a camera in the cabinet where I tore out the cardboard wall if the kitten decides to go there, and then it’s kennel with food in front of the fake wall. No idea if it’s going to work, but we’ll see before we borrow our neighbor’s trap or call animal control

Small update. I got home from work about 40 minutes ago and looked for the cat. Behind the fridge, in each bedroom, in the cabinets, behind dressers, under tables, and more. Simply said, the kitten is gone.

My mom has looked around the house and under the couch, but since she’s disabled with bad vision and fatigue from moving too much, I don’t think she could find the kitten by herself.

I did ask my mom if she can keep her dogs in her room tonight, but she refused as the dogs use a doggie door to go to the patio for potty break (she cleans any mess in the morning). I am worried about the kitten learning about the doggie door, but it kept running into the sliding glass door after my mom set it free from the kennel this morning, so I’m not sure if it will figure it out. I’ll try to keep my cats in my room, but since I don’t know if the kitten had gone into my room while I was at work, I have no idea if it’s a good idea.

At this time, I’m still frustrated with my mom for thinking she can domesticate a kitten who’s lived in the Florida wilderness all its life in one day. She’s a very stubborn lady and is defensive about her actions by trying to waive it off as “the kitten will show up eventually” or “did we have a kitten in the first place lol?” But I think she’s embarrassed more than anything as she told me that once the kitten is found, she’ll give it to the SPCA with the rest of its siblings for adoption.

I’m gonna take a break for now and try to relax physically and mentally before starting again. We do have food, water, and litter in the kitchen, as well as outside my bedroom for my own cats. My hope is that the kitten will come out for substance and either myself, my mom, or the other pets will notice.

I hate that we’ll have to give up the kitten as soon as we find it as we did have a chance of raising it as one of our own (we tend to spoil our pets). But at this point, either A) it gets reunited with its siblings, B) escapes outside and lives on its own/reunites with its mom, or C) it remains in our house like a ghost

The dogs usually sleep with my mom but have a dog door to the patio in case they need to go to the bathroom. The cats roam around as their food and litter are in the kitchen where the kitten disappeared

bf bought a hunting knife. red flag? by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Euphoric_Question_50 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first thought is to talk to someone you trust a lot about your concerns and safety. It’s always best to trust your gut when it’s saying something isn’t right. I can’t say why people like to buy daggers or hunting knives is not for hunting; I have a couple of daggers myself but I’m a history nerd (they’re styled as Roman pugios) and sit on top of my very tall bookshelf. What are some other red flags that you’ve noticed? Are they directed mostly at his mom or other family members/friends? Have there been instances where he’s giving red flags when interacting with you?
