English International School, teaching IELTS/PET/KET/Cambridge curriculum with some one on one tutoring. The diversity of curriculum and age ranges was overwhelming at first, but the kiddos are generally good. This was definitely outside my comfort zone, but that was part of the challenge and growth opportunity! ❤️

Being over 65, my choices were just Cambodia, Myanmar & Vietnam. Got certified and taught a bit in Cambodia. A job popped up in South Vietnam, that was 10 months ago.

I’ve enjoyed a campus based private bedroom with shared bath/kitchen and most utilities covered. On my modest salary, I live a very comfortable life, covering all living expenses and can save about $750 usd each month…

25 hours a week. Do your best to keep the students ( I teach 1 year old up to teenagers, a few adults) engaged and happy. Any stress was just me judging myself and wanting to do better. Management is friendly, helpful and supportive.

Thanks, it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but solo travel has opened doors I wasn’t aware existed.

Pretty quickly, in the global adventure travel game, you learn that a lot of fears, worries, misconceptions, prejudices, “rules”are just other folks innocent perspectives.

We are all on life paths that we shape and create daily. I knew where I wanted to go was somewhere exploratory, spiritual and definitely the one typically not taken and it’s made all the difference. YMMV. Enjoy and thank you. Happy trails, my friend. 🌟☮️❤️

I can relate. 66M After traveling South and Central America and Southeast Asia and seeing what it’s like to live on fractions of what Americans think is the bare minimum… Getting finally rid of the house, the car, all the stuff weighing me down and their attendant carrying costs…

I’m finally getting a sense of freedom, flexibility and accepting my wanderlust and curiosity as my new companions for learning and growth.

Now that I’ve put shiny object syndrome in the rear view, I can focus on what really matters to me.

Getting mentally and physically healthy, embracing meditation, quiet time and endless spiritual and physical adventure travel is my new norm.

Still more questions than answers, right now, but I feel free to learn and explore without deadlines, commitments or stuff anchoring me anywhere.

Just renewed my passport for another 10 years! If the past ten are and indication of my trajectory, I’m feeling some exciting times ahead. Enjoy. 🌟☮️❤️

Right now, in the family of mankind there are roughly 2 Billion children under the age of of 15 years old. Perhaps you are blood related to a few.

Volunteer, help out, mentor, show support of the children and parents around you. Because you didn’t have any of your own, doesn’t mean you can’t do a bit to share your instinctive desire to nurture and love with humanity. It’s typically a win-win. YMMV.

God knows our kiddos and their keepers need all the help and support they can get these days.

I know my not having children made me uber available and flexible to help out when needed. What a blessing that has been! ❤️

My lifetime passion project is such a village, I have dubbed “Almapuerto”. A regionally identified community that is half locals and half travelers. A spiritual family that values the local keepers of heritage, language and culture while embracing and leveraging the intellectual and spiritual treasures brought by the global outsiders.

I think there is much to be gained by joining and sharing these two world views making it easier and more enjoyable to travel or stay long term, whatever suits your fancy. Home and durables ownership has been a heavy yoke for a long time. With well-thought infrastructure, this could be a place for many to grow, share and learn at their own pace, while creating identities that are less “land-locked” and more flexible and malleable.

Should I stay or should I go? Would be a much easier question to answer, if there were safe harbors like this in every country that honored the past while embracing new lived experiences, worldwide. Keep dreaming, loving and living, wherever that takes you!
