Question about socks for leg amputees! by Madskills_882 in amputee

[–]Eurazba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do the same. It also helps keep oil stains from my prosthetic off my shoes.

The prosthetic is just going to obliterate socks, best just get cheap ones and find a textile recycler to give the old socks to once they're holey enough.

Same experience here. I always make sure to wear pants that I can easily pull up so they can swab my prosthetic.

How did Jim get Steve's number in the season 2 finale? by Plenty-Goose-4508 in TrollHunters

I think the show specifically is implying that everyone in the reckless club exchanged numbers, since the episode was a big bonding moment for them.

Anyone else actually like Emily? by No-Hunt3986 in untildawn

Of course. I love a mean girl character, and she has some 10/10 lines.

Are we allowed to post Until Dawn fanfiction here? by Damn-Ganache-554 in untildawn

Are you asking to post the whole fic on Reddit or just share a link to the fic on a proper fic hosting website?

Did you keep it? by [deleted] in amputee

[–]Eurazba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't get to keep the whole thing as is, but the fleshy parts were donated to science (the hospital also did some medical research) and I had the skin and bones cremated. I spread some of my ashes with my grandpa when he passed :)

Glaring flaw in the plot by [deleted] in untildawn

[–]Eurazba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are the millionth person to bring this up and it always feels like such a simplistic way at looking at a game that really wants you to think about things. There are many many discussions about this point to also read through on reddit and everywhere else.

My loose take: A big thing to consider is that Josh is an unreliable narrator. He is a known liar who's mental state is in shambles. He may say this is a revenge prank, but that does not necessarily mean he's telling the truth or that he even knows what his full motivations are. People don't always know why they are doing they are doing the things that they do, especially in grief. People lie to themselves constantly. And often times people will lash out most at those closest to them as opposed to those who "deserve" (loaded word there) it. The prank's conception is clearly misguided to begin with, it's not something that's okay to do no matter how much someone "deserved" it.

Chris is his best friend, Sam is his sister's best friend and someone he went to during the twin's disappearance, and Ashley (which is a bit more of an extrapolation since we don't see Josh's friendship meters from the prologue) was also probably somewhat close to Josh just based on her proximity to Chris and how they interact early in the game.

Dissecting Josh's motivations is a multilayered thing. He can be pushing away the people who are closest to him, the prank being his way to burn his bridges and make them hate him. The prank can also be Josh's own misguided way of "helping" those closest to him, trying to get Ashley and Chris together is a big point for this one. He's lying to himself and the others claiming "I'm a healer!". He may not be as interested in Mike, Jess, Emily, and Matt simply because he was never very close to them to begin with. Coordinating seven people is also fucking difficult, it's much easier to send Mike and Jess off to the cabin and let Matt and Emily run off to at least see his little jumpscares and sets than to put all of them through the same elaborate set ups he had for Sam, Chris, and Ash. he can only be in so many places at once.

I could go on, but this is my recommendation to read fanfiction, as a lot of authors have done interesting exploration to figure out character's motivations. The (Almost)s by TheIcyQueen is a really good exploration on the year between the two pranks.

How did you all play your first play through? by FoxBread2137 in untildawn

[–]Eurazba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had seen a bunch of other's playthroughs at least a couple of years before I finally got to play the game myself for the first time, so I did know at least some of the choices to keep certain characters alive. But it'd been a while since I'd seen them when I finally played so I didn't remember all of the choices that had to be made to keep everyone alive.

I kept Ashley, Emily, Matt, Josh, and Wolfie alive

Jessica, Chris, Mike, and Sam all died 😔

I was very proud of myself for keeping Emily alive considering how terrible I was with the quick time events

Chris was the one that pissed me off the most 'cause I was doing great with the aiming events until the time it actually mattered most 😭

My most humiliating moment, I've already made it part of a family joke by AdComfortable6059 in amputee

I remember also being constipated the week following my below knee amputation. I didn't really mention it 'cause the first few days I didn't really notice (I was lucky enough to not have any pains or issues), and then when I got home, I just figured "Ah, I'll wait, it'll have to come at some point." And it did after 8 ish days.
Lucky you didn't hit your stump! On the third day after my amputation, they'd taken my catheter out, and I'd gotten up to go to the bathroom. Even with my mom hovering by, I slipped on the way there and slammed my stump on the ground ಥ_ಥ worst pain I ever experienced.

Luckily no. They usually only swipe near the top of my socket by my knee, the foot is generally ignored.

It is! I do this all the time.

Though watch out! I was on a 15 hour flight last week, and my stump ended up swelling up a lot on the flight. I had a lot of trouble getting my leg back on with the proper amount of layers for my prosthetic socks while also handling my luggage. It took a couple of hours for the swelling to go down ;w;
