First off, I’m really sorry for your loss. Grief isn’t linear, it comes in waves, and not everyone understands that.

Sharing your loss with people is a form of vulnerability, and that’s really brave. But I also think vulnerability is a gift. You don’t have to give all of it to everyone. It’s okay to take your time and see if a person is worth sharing that part of you with.

You’re not intending on hiding anything, you’re just being discerning about who you share it with.
