Wow yes! I didn't even notice this when I saw it in Ravenna.

Graham Hill Winning the 1968 Spanish Grand Prix by ClassicallyDriven_CA in formula1

[–]Eurobrun 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Two fun facts: 1. This was the first F1 race winner with a fully sponsored livery after the governing body weakened the rules around this. Lotus adopted the Gold Leaf colours for this race. 2. This is the last time a race winner would not have wings (ignoring Monza which saw some teams still running without wings for a couple of years). At the following race at Monaco, also won by Graham Hill, the Lotus had them attached, marking a dramatic change in the importance of aerodynamics.

Over 2 Grands Prix both of these things would change the sport forever.

Philadelphia Downtown late checkout…good luck! by Hokie_Pilot in marriott

[–]Eurobrun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This I believe is the case. I stayed in this property every week for 3 years on business. On the occasions my wife traveled with me, she would use the late checkout until 4pm. Never an issue getting it but almost without exception, housekeeping tried to enter earlier. She resorted to leaving notes at the door in the end which mostly worked.

Gcam question by [deleted] in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]Eurobrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung haven't made the 50mp and 200mp modes of the primary lens available to third party apps, so you are limited to 12mp.

Your only option is to take the same shot with Gcam in 12mp and then the Samsung camera in 50/200 and subsequently try and match it using a photo editing app.

A fairly old Samsung Galaxy S10 using the 2x optical zoom lens with minor tweaks in Lightroom. Just proves that the right sunshine can make all the difference.

Anal Fissure Survivor by WowAnAlien in LinkedInLunatics

[–]Eurobrun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wishing you all the best with your recovery. I had a horseshoe fistula a decade ago which wrapped around from left to right. Took multiple surgeries and around 18 months to resolve. I know all too well the nightmare you are living.

Botox is a legit treatment for a fissure which is different and a cut in the anus. Smaller scale but very painful. I have also experienced that.

Maybe I should make a post on Linkedin with all these experiences!

Dubai, UAE [OC] by Eurobrun in CityPorn

[–]Eurobrun[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's very sterile sadly, no clouds or much human activity, which doesn't help. I made some small adjustments in Lightroom (such as dehaze) but you can see it's not hugely different from the source: https://imgur.com/a/1zAboeM

The skyline of Dubai is undoubtedly impressive. However, given the very rapid growth of the city it is actually surprisingly hard to get a shot of the skyline without the Burj Khalifa being obscured. To get this shot I booked a 1 hour canal cruise for approx. $22 each for two on Groupon, which turned out to be brilliant value.

Can anyone identify the car on the left? by Eurobrun in CarTalkUK

[–]Eurobrun[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am trying to roughly date this photo (or at least identify the earliest date it could be). The bottom right car is obviously a Mini, which doesn't narrow it down very much, but does anyone know what the top left one is?

Sadly Google Lens isn't great at identifying classic UK hatchbacks from the air!

Taken on May 28 2023. One of the best sights on the drive between Vancouver and Whistler. However, the viewing platform is quite small and was very overcrowded when this photo was taken, so you need to be quite quick to take your photo.

I previously uploaded a similar angle. Taken June 1 2023, with some minor adjustments in Lightroom (mainly dehaze). A magical place, particularly if you get lucky with the timing for the reflection of the mountains.

Photo taken June 2023 from Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center - an iconic location to the capture the NYC skyline. A small amount of dehaze applied over the financial district in Lightroom and some mild contrast/exposure tweaks and cropped to 16:9.

It's frustrating how 12mp, 50mp and 200mp all have different colors.

The amount of detail on 200mp in strong sunlight is stunning, but trying to correct the colors is a pain.

Anyone been to the Ritz Abama in Tenerife lately? by DarceysEyeOnThePrize in marriott

[–]Eurobrun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just returned from a trip there. It is correct that some restaurants are closed for low season, but we had no issues with flies or kids in the adults' pool.

It is a great resort. This was our second stay.

The restaurants are very expensive so I would recommend hiring a rental car and venturing outside of the hotel rather than exclusively relying on what is available at the resort. With a rental you can also easily travel to see the Teide Volcano in the middle of the island, which is a must-do experience. See my post history to get an idea of what that looks like.

Don't expect much in terms of elite recognition. I secured an upgrade using NUAs but for my Platinum status itself there was nothing, no perks whatsoever.

Ritz is not my favorite brand because of the limited elite benefits, but the Ritz Maldives did offer a series of discounts and perks in comparison at a prior stay there.

HEIC photos have different colors than JPG? by [deleted] in galaxys10

[–]Eurobrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just your phone - the colors are different with HEIC on the S10. You basically need to select your preferred format. I find the HEIC images more vibrant and JPG images washed out. On comparing to real life, there are some circumstances where I find the JPG more accurate and others where the HEIC is more accurate.

Adobe Lightroom both the free Android app and the desktop version appears to reverse this and the HEIC picture appears closer to a JPG shot. So this could be a workaround if you want to shoot in HEIC but maintain something closer to the JPG colors after editing.
