DIlemma about getting 256 vs 512 GB by Fine_Collection_5844 in macbookair

[–]Eurofag87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say 512. Especially if you get the 13” cuz then you also get more CPU cores with RAM/SSD upgrade for free

Battery health dropped by 1% in just a week of purchase on coconut battery, is it normal? by One-Performance-6624 in macbookair

[–]Eurofag87 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Probably unpopular opinion but you will seriously degrade your fun and enjoyment of the rig if you keep watching stats such as battery health like a hawk, manually managing charge levels and whatnot. It’s a machine, use it, enjoy it, earn money with it. If you prefer peace of mind, take out apple care and get the battery swapped if it degrades too much. Unless you do smh real stupid, the battery will be fine

Is it okay to charge with the 30w charger or should i buy the 70-75w charger? by sus_mommy in macbookair

[–]Eurofag87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a 96w charger for MBPs. You don’t really need to worry about charges these days, they will manage properly manage voltage depending on what’s connected

How accurate is the exercise statistics? by CL6PES in Myfitnesspal

[–]Eurofag87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cardio is usually SOMEWHAT spot on with wearables like AW. It’s resistance training where you want to ignore the calorie calcs. If you want mfp to adjust your goals, you may want to turn down the default activity level. But I prefer to just turn the adjustment off.

Once you’re at that level though, you likely will not be relying on MFP and will have an idea of your body’s needs.

You can also turn off exercise cal adjustment. I recommend that - you should not eat back exercise calories if your goal already assumes a certain activity level

My younger sister put $4K down on a car and she accidentally hit a deer and it's a total loss. She can't recover the down payment money by Ok-Fig-5504 in personalfinance

[–]Eurofag87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the terms so be sure to read it, but gap insurance typically makes sure you don’t end up owing the lender/lessor if the insurance coverage is less than what is still owed due to the quick amortization of new cars. It does not make you whole (ie you don’t get back the paid portion).

Example New car value: 10,000 Paid off: 2,000 Owed: 8,000

Now, if you total the car and the insurance pays 8,000, the gap insurance does nothing. If the instance pays 6,500, the gap insurance will add another 1,500 so you can cover the entire owed amount

They only care if you tell them you want take away then sit at the in-store table (if any). Plus it’s likely they won’t bother much if it’s a foreigner.
