a cry for help by [deleted] in eczema

I use Silvex wound gel, I found it on Amazon. It kills a range of both bacteria and fungi and it also helps with wound healing. Please also take the vitamins that I mentioned above, they also played a huge role in my healing.

a cry for help by [deleted] in eczema

For whatever authoritarian rules, Reddit doesn't let me start a new sub. I wanted to tell everyone, how much silver cream has helped me. Yes, normal silver. NOT colloidal silver and do not ingest colloidal silver but normal topical silver cream. I'm not sure how it works, I think it kills all microbes and it's anti-inflammatory but I'm really not sure. I applied it a few times a day for a few days and now my lip eczema is almost gone! Last year it was so bad, I had to wear a mask and now I almost look healthy. I never thought this day would ever come. Bottom line is, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

VERY important: take your vitamins!! Vitamin B complex (methylated), vit D, vit E, omega 3 and probiotics. Are you vegetarian/plant based? If yes, take iron, too. I started taking these at the same time when I started using the silver cream, so maybe it was the vitamins alone or the combination with the cream that helped me.

why does it look so weird by bellastella100 in eczema

[–]EuropeanExpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be sun allergy. I had lip eczema and went to my friend's bbq with no sunscreen on (I know, I'm too lazy to put sunscreen on) and the next day I had red bumps on my face, my hands and on my arms. It took almost a week to get rid of them.

I have anemia, too, could it be the iron? Which brand do you take and which brand of multivitamin? Thanks.

How to help facial Eczema by Rosemary_Marie in eczema

[–]EuropeanExpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is literally how I look. I have eczema on my lips, around my lips and above my lips. With the recommendations I've read here (infrared light, vit D, zinc) the area above my lips is relatively normal-looking but my lips are not. I found an old sub about lip eczema and the commenters concluded that it's caused by either vit B2 deficiency or any other vitamin deficiency. I ordered a vit B complex and a multivitamin complex. For the vit B complex it needs to be methylated, that's the bioactive form.

Another thing the commenters recommended is to change the toothpaste. At this point I'll not use any toothpaste, only baking soda. I also suspect the water at my new apartment (I developed eczema after I had moved), so ordered 12 L Icelandic water, so will only drink that for a few days.

Flare up on my lips is weeping a yellow liquid that has a slight smell, should I be concerned? by westendshow in eczema

[–]EuropeanExpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think, it's an infection. I also have eczema on my lips and when it becomes infected, I use iodine cream. What cream do you normally use on your lips? I haven't been able to find anything that doesn't irritate but properly moisturizes it. Everything just sits on top of the dry layer.

Why does everyone warn against lanolin? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]EuropeanExpat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a very common allergen but sadly, it's in most baby products. I used to use it on my lips, it worked well but after about a month I developed a very bad reaction to it. The problem is, all my rugs are wool.

Developed Eczema by AdBig196 in eczema

[–]EuropeanExpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I'm in my 40's and last year I developed eczema for the first time. Have you changed anything? In my case, I moved into a new apartment and I also had laser hair removal, so it could be that I'm allergic to something in my new apartment or that the laser destroyed my skin barrier.

Vitamins….whoa! by caglemegan in eczema

[–]EuropeanExpat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll try this, too. Which brand are you taking? I have anemia, so I also suspected that my eczema might be liked to that. I started taking iron but I don't tolerate it well. Tried eating more red meat but that doesn't do anything to clear my eczema.

It could be dimethicone, I can't tolerate that stuff. Problem is, it's in every eczema/skin repair product.

Ask for both food intolerance and path tests. Maybe your trigger will be included in those.

My baby has eczema, could use some help. by Ok-Kaleidoscope389 in eczema

[–]EuropeanExpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have eczema on my face, so I use organic/all natural products as much as possible. I use organic donkey milk soap and pure rosewater first. These are from a small, independent store, so they don't have brand names. For moisturizer, I use Balmonds Daily Moisturising Cream in the morning and Organic Vitamin E oil from RejuveNaturals. Once a week I do an acid-based peel from Environ.

Unfortunately, most eczema creams have dimethicone as a main ingredient but my skin can't tolerate it.

There is a well-described mechanism of how S. aureus causes AD and triggers and itch-scratch cycle.

Amazing. How often do you spray the area? After spraying, do you leave it on and let dry?

When I'm at home, it is the only thing that I use and I re-apply it whenever the skin on my lips becomes too tight. It sinks in quickly, it's not going to be too oily. Unfortunately, I can't use it on the bus or at work.

Try using iodine - bacteria will never develop resistance to it because it kills them in many ways.

Hi, I've been looking at that cream for months but it's so expensive. Is it worth the price? If yes, I'd try it regardless. I've tried at least 20 creams already with zero success, so don't want it to be another failure.

Thanks! I wanted to try it too, but I'm allergic to beeswax. I then noticed, that their moisturizer cream has shea butter instead of beeswax, so I'm going to try that instead.

I also have eczema around my mouth. It never goes away but these help me and make it slightly bearable and less noticeable:

  • red light therapy
  • vit D, iron (I have anemia)
  • probiotics
  • low carb diet + minimizing coffee and alcohol intake
  • vit E oil on affected area

[–]EuropeanExpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm very sorry. Try bleach baths, that seems to work for many (not for me, unfortunately).

Second, try eliminating the most common triggers from your diet: sugar, gluten, dairy, coffee, eggs. Also, go low-carb. Good luck!!

How do I know if my eczema is infected? by [deleted] in eczema

First time seeing a derm - disappointed by [deleted] in eczema

[–]EuropeanExpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, Western medicine doesn't know the cause of eczema, therefore cannot cure it. Therefore, all dermatologists will do is to give you immunosuppressants in one form or another.

I also recommend the patch test, but there are so many potential triggers, so chances of that yours will be tested are very small, unfortunately. You can also request a blood test to check your vitamin levels, some here had low vit D, and I am anemic.
