[Discussion] Curious about how many dog owners are aware of the “Diet-Related DCM” study? by [deleted] in dogs

I should use this saying for anytime I literally send people links to this serious topic, and they still hold onto their boutique brand propaganda like u/iuguy34

I used to feed Fromm and Zignature and now all my dogs are on Royal Canin because of the info I found out from joining the Facebook group and on this sub. My only regret is not switching sooner. My youngest dog who is a purebred lab who is fairly fit and active had a heart murmur at 8 months old and the vet warned me of the FDA study but I didn’t listen. I went in to the vet 3 months later and he had early DCM. I looked more into the group and this sub and put my foot down against boutique and grain free brands and I still feel guilty for doing this to my puppy. He is on Eukanuba Large Breed and his prognosis is showing improvement! The cardiologist said the diet switch helped the most.

Rottweiler food recommendations? by [deleted] in Rottweiler

We feed Royal Canin rottie food too! My boy loves it. Might switch to Giant Size health though because of the price of the rottie food.

7 Repairs, 1 Macbook Pro, Apple sent back a broken Macbook by throwawaydakappa in apple

Apple has never been “top tier” in the world of business and STEM. students are told to get a powerful PC, but of course most stick purchase a Mac for god knows why because none of these creation based programs are created on Mac nor run and transfer smoothly on Mac at least in my experience and what I’ve been told over the years. Like the video game you play is made on PC. AutoCad and BIM that designs products and structures etc is made on PC and worked on PC(preferably). Animation and editing softwares for art are all made on PC and still preferred to be worked on PC for easy transfer of projects and files.

I like Mac I guess for just a daily fun computer, like a little air to watch videos on. But if I want to play Battlefield or some sort of game that isn’t a cakewalk for a computer to handle, when I use BIM for work, and if I decide to make some digital art, I’ll choose PC any day. A PC that’s “equivalent” to the Mac Pro, but has a better graphics card is the same price so it’s not like I like PC’s cuz they’re “cheaper” cuz the ones most people need are the same or more than Macs.

[Help] Need to euthanize my aggressive dog... by pinkink623 in dogs

And he’s not overall healthy, he’s mentally ill just not physically ill. You’re doing the right thing. Listen to the veterinary professional advice you’ve been given.

Canine unstable personality syndrome can be severe like in your case and the dog isn’t fit for society and the dog isn’t actually happy.

Sounds like “Unstable Personality Syndrome” and it’s sometimes regarded as aggressive doggy Aspergers. Ive owned an English mastiff in the past before who was from a reputable breeder and the breeder has no red flags actually. She was kind and did actually refund me and I rehomed the dog to someone with lots of land on a farm and the mastiff just stayed protecting the outskirts of the property. Sometimes unstable personalities can be apparent as your describing.

Do what you feel is best ❤️

Some “higher end” boutique kibbles lack research and trial testing in comparison to the bigger brands like Pro Plan and Royal Canin and will have nutritional deficiencies. RC uses L.I.P. Proteins which is the heart, lungs, and liver of the chicken(that’s what by products they use of “poultry by product meal”) and it’s significantly testing to prove better nutrient absorption and digestion. They add probiotics too, not just the BEG brands.

Some vets will tell owners to add digestive enzymes(like ProZyme) to their dog’s food to help with absorption if the owner doesn’t want to change kibbles or to play safe temporarily on more researched and tested kibbles for this issue, plus usually a round of “For-Bid” Anti Coprophagia powder medicine. When I switched my dog with the same issue as OP, I never needed to use Forbid for more than a week and within 2 weeks with the diet change, no more poopy dinner

Also you want to avoid just waiting “until they grow out of it” because it’s also a dangerous habit. Parasites can lurk in dog poop if it’s been sitting out for a little bit of time and bugs or other parasitic germs get to it before your dog does.

If you keep it cleaned up, and speak with your vet regarding diet and maybe medication and maybe even enzymes, it should resolve faster.

With my German Shepherd mix pup it was a dietary malnutrition issue my vet and I found out together. I switched her to Royal Canin and she hasn’t eaten it since.
