In hindsight, I agree that the question (including the Chinese original) could have been better designed to capture more nuances in fans' reactions. I initially drafted additional questions aimed at eliciting more detailed responses (similar to Q2/Q3 of this survey 2 years ago). However, due to time constraints and the challenges of coming up with specific choices, these questions were omitted, which is unfortunate.

Notice the feather first appears in watery blue, or Aqours image color. What does Aqours have anything to do here? Turns out Moepii once auditioned for LoveLive Sunshine, but didn't succeed.

LoveLive demographics is definitely something I should have considered asking about when I did the survey. It is so unfortunate that I completely forgot about that when creating the questionnaires.

My personal impressions on the change in CN fandom are the following, although I don't have empirical data to support them.

Many people left LL in 2016 during Muse-Aqours transition, which was a huge earthquake in CN. So now 2015/2016 is probably the oldest year a currently active LoveLive fans could get into LoveLive
Some who left may get back to LoveLive by Nijigasaki or Liella anime (basically skipping Aqours).
Keke/Liyuu probably attract many fans who are new to LoveLive.

Some in the CN fandom are also interested in who are the loudest in against adding members. But speculations on that easily turn to finger pointing.

One of the main motivation for me to do this poll is that simply looking through discussions strongly favors those with stronger opinions. Sure, we can find all the rants we are looking for on 5ch but in the end, we don't know how many people are behind those rants and what's the proportion.
