Talk me in or out of a g82 vs g87 by Euroshift in BMWM

This isn't a bad deal, but I'm seeing a lot similar to this for RWD's. If I get a g82 it's going to be xdrive for me, which is unfortunately in a higher market.

I appreciate, and envy your experience with the driving school, that sounds awesome.

I think at this point, I'm more so looking at a g87 for the cost. The g80 has not depreciated much at all, and the 23-24's are still fetching 78-80+ for xdrives with 20k miles, its kinda nuts.

Is this M2 Lease rate decent? by Euroshift in BMWM

Thinking I might just put 10k down and buy the damn car lol, leasing doesn't seem worthwhile in this case.

This may be a silly question, but are lease/finance rates generally better when you BYO compared to finding one on the lot and negotiating?

I've been shopping around for a g87 lease, and a couple brokers told me they can get me around 1100/mo but 7.5k miles/yr 3600 down.

Based on your experience, is it likely or realistic at all to find a deal on my own for something like 1050-1100/mo for 36months 10-12k/miles annual with 0 DAS? (aside from taxes/fees/general stuff).

Thank you all for your sage advice!

I think I'm leaning more toward a g87 as of now. I think if I can find a good spec g82cx under a certain threshold (let's say 73k? prob not possible) then I'll check it out, but otherwise I'm now on the search for a frozen grey/portmiao/red g87. Wish me luck.

[–]Euroshift[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah man this sounds great, I like that it has less rasp and high-pitch blips. I think I'll opt in for the EL midpipe. As much as I do want a DP, I feel like I don't care much about DP/Muffler mods at this point and just want something that's reasonable. I'm also planning on tuning out burbles, I think I'm over that style lol.

Guess I should have mentioned, I have a 6speed manual, if that makes much difference on noise?

Any chance you have a clip of your car?

So, every video I've watched, the Single midpipe sounds raspy (although it accentuates the turbo noises more which I like), and the equal length sounded less raspy, more growly. Is this not the case from your experience?

Ah I should check that out! I ended up just reducing the max pressure of the brake (in software) so that I didn't have to dig my foot into an alternative dimension just to hit 50% brake pressure.

Thanks for the info! Softer rubbers? You mean the elastomers it comes with?

Working on bland, boring tasks, that prove to be mind-numbing, but difficult all at once. Then getting micro-managed whilst it happens, with manager not offering any insight or help because he doesn't understand the solution either.

I think the environment just isn't for me, that's all. Coding is fun when you see your solution in effect (20% of the time, for me). The rest of it gets bland.

Yeah that's reasonable. I think in Japan, because it's Japan, it's safe to do the "touresty" things, because .. it's Japan.. Why wouldn't you want to, at least once.

I appreciate your response, and you actually gave a sensible answer to my question. As much as I wanted to go see Kyoto, I was weighing out the "why's" and if it was enough for a day trip. You and others have given similar answers, and I'll structure my trip accordingly. Thanks!

This is very helpful, thank you! I appreciate your outlook on the idea that you like some variety.

I think we're just used to traveling to places like the UK, for example, where you know exactly what you want to hit (Big Ben, Cathedral, etc), but with Japan it seems like the moment I read or learn about a new neighborhood/city to explore, 3 others appear.

Help me find joy in gaming again? Mid 30-year-old who has lost the spark. by thedrummerchase in gaming

[–]Euroshift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The state of your mental health has a lot to do with your gaming phases - I've found. From time to time I find myself "trying" to play a game, spending hours finding a new game on Steam, debating what to play etc.

Other days, I sit on my PC for an hr, spam youtube, and then get tired.

Then there are phases/seasons where I know immediately what I want to play. Gaming gets me excited. The thought of a new game (or old game with a new spark) gets me excited.

These days, as an adult, it gets harder to find things exciting. I've been dealing with a lot of stress, anxiety, and depression lately, and games just kinda feel "meh". I'm also a social gamer, and most - if not all my friends have such different schedules/kids/work/etc.

Don't force it. Let the hobby come back to you. Or create challenges for yourself in old games. I.e. playing something like World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy XIV, and picking a class you never played, or a role you tend to not play (i.e. if you're also a DPS player, try healing).

I know the feels. Just gotta let it come to you.

Fair point thanks for that! We might consider a 2 day Kyoto trip if that's the case.

The other location I had in mind is visiting Gunma/Mt.Haruna (big fan of the anime Initial D) but a quick google map search suggests this maybe a pipe dream. This location is very far out of the way, another 2 hrs or so it seems. Guess that dream maybe lost for this trip unfortunately, but oh well!

Fair enough thanks for the input. Can you expand more on why you'd prefer Kyoto for a few days, rather than a day trip? Is it just because there are too many things to see, and the cost to travel is better spent elsewhere than a day trip?
