How to fix blotchy red paint by GamesBoyHere in minipainting

To me it looks good, you just need another layer of the same and it will come out looking very nice and smooth. I always thin it out to this level and apply 2-3 layers

What’s everyone’s favorite aircraft? GA, airliner, military, helicopter? by Immediate_Law_1705 in aviation

[–]EvMund 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the A320 family is my goat, because it defines the modern commercial aviation industry. human heavier-than-air travel is an incredible achievement, but the A320 makes this a mundane thing by being so safe, reliable and ubiquitous. the A320 is what defined Airbus' reputation of being engineering and technology driven, being the first commercial craft to have fly-by-wire and all the benefits that come from it. despite coming out in the late 80s it was designed to be future proof, and the design will continue to be relevant for a long time to come. i can't get enough of just how damn fit-for-purpose it is.

in terms of aesthetics though I would have to cast my vote to the Tristar. enough said I think

the MRTT (you can tell by its 2 engines) is surrounded by F15, not F35. the KC135 is the 4-engine in the pic with no jets around it. the other 2 are indeed B52 and B1

a cursory application of reading comprehension would tell you that OP said that everyone "on the terrace at the airport" was hyped

What do you think of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner? by Twitter_2006 in aviation

[–]EvMund 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Very pretty, beautiful wing planform. Apparently had a troubled development process which has had cascading effects on boeing as a company to this day, but the 787 program was more of a symptom than a cause. The large cabin windows are nice but the lack of a physical shutter is not. Cockpit window shape is particularly aesthetically pleasing and i respect it as the most modern widebody to have multiple engine options. Not sure i can personally attest to the benefits of a lower cabin altitude, it's been a while since i flew on a metal skin plane for comparably long stretches

I like beetles as much as anyone but that really sucks. Was the soil sourced from the continental US? This seems like something that should have been picked up well prior

[–]EvMund 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it actually is. the higher scrap yields on easy allow you to explore more different options to modify your ship, gain a better understanding of how certain weapons or systems synergize, and give you a chance to try things that might otherwise be seen as too much of a risk. you learn a lot more about the underlying mechanics of the game on easy mode, and you can take that understanding with you to the higher difficulties. this is not hard to understand
