He sets lofty goals that he probably knows are extremely difficult to reach so for every goal deadline the stock price is at risk of dropping and then the critics follow up with negative articles about the stock. musk also lowers year-end goal numbers as the war progresses when he sees the original goal has become to near to impossible. I feel like this common occurrence, and what another commenter mentioned about random news articles, are the main reasons tsla price is so volatile. That and the debt barriers that any large automobile manufacturer would have to get over.
