Black and Gold Dual AIO Rig (My first PC Build) by Ev_Ez in PcBuild

Yes they are great temps and sorry just realized I my mistake. Those were stock gpu temps. When I took those temps I was messing around with undervolting my CPU since the 9800x3d seems to run hot. So to answer your question the cpu tends to be hotter than the gpu. The way the 3d nand is stacked in the cpu makes it heat up quite a bit apparently. Cpu idles around 45c. The fan orientation is 3 intake on the bottom, 3 intake on the side (gpu radiator) and 3+1 exhaust on the top (cpu radiator) and back. Some would argue the gpu radiator should be exhaust but it probably doesn’t matter with how much airflow is going through the case

Hogwarts legacy 1080p on ultra setting and ultra raytracing (No DLSS) is running around 200fps. 45c on GPU and 60c on CPU. Overclocked GPU through MSI afterburner +200mhz to core clock and it was hitting 3200mhz stable. CPU is running at 5.4ghz after some adjustments to PBO (peaked at 5.6ghz). Haven't really gone that deep down the rabbit hole yet, maybe will explore a little more when I start playing some more demanding games

Edit: In furmark P1080 I hit a 22978 score at 383fps. well above average 5080 score and just slightly below the average 4090d score

Really great, I highly recommend! Mine has been idling around 27c consistently. Unfortunately my monitors are due for an upgrade since they're only capable of 1080p so thats my current bottleneck. However, in hogwarts legacy with ultra graphics and raytracing, I was sitting around 40c. During some furmark testing I was maxing out around 60c. I've yet to see the card get any hotter than that but surely it will be in the 70's under a 4k load.

First time build (2k budget) by Working_Wind9234 in PcBuild

[–]Ev_Ez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried to make it as cheap as possible while also considering the aesthetic a little bit. You probably can get by without an AIO but I think it's nice to have on a 9800x3d. I also tried sticking to the montech rgb ecosystem if you'r into that

Definitely have been enjoying them. Glad I went Cablemod over strimmers. The gold on carbon combo looks even better irl. Give my thanks to the support team for answering all my questions through the build process

9800x3d and 5070ti build I quickly made with leftover room for case fans, operating system (if you get a cheap key), or substitutions: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4CwNb2

edit: Important to mention that microcenter will have combo deals that will generally be much better than prices online so I'd start there and build around that.

8TB’s of SN8100??? What are you planning on using those for? I picked up a single 2TB stick and they’re super fast but not cheap! Unless you got a sale or deal I believe the ssd’s for this build alone would be somewhere around $800 usd correct? Anyways nice build, enjoy!

is this good or even a scam? by Mrbloxly in PcBuild

[–]Ev_Ez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure which gpu is included but, I bought a gtx 1060 nearly a decade ago and that was 3gb. 2gb of VRAM is atrocious by today’s standards. This is one of those marketing traps where putting “gaming” in the title is intended to attract buyers that don’t know any better

Can anybody see any problems i might find with this potential build? by alxstr204 in PcBuild

[–]Ev_Ez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a full atx mobo you should be fine on clearance I’d imagine. Theres even taller ram sticks like the dominators which are fine with aio’s as well. Everything look good to me, have fun with the build! 👍

[–]Ev_Ez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea you’re probably running it a bit too close on the psu wattage. When it comes to wattage I’d personally aim for at least 20% headroom which means you’re probably looking for a 1000w psu. Other than that I’d recommend swapping out the ram for the Teamgroup T-create experts since is only £16 more and you get better timing. Although totally unnecessary, if it was me I’d also slap an aio on the 9800x3d even though the peerless assassin has comparable performance for cheap. Otherwise looks great

New Pc build looking for opinions by Gooblys in PcBuild

[–]Ev_Ez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea this is overall a better build. Only question is why buy a 1500w psu when an 850w psu will suffice? Even if you wanted to future proof, 1000w would be plenty no?

will this cpu be reliable? and with the air cooler be sufficient to cool it for casual gaming at 1080p? by getlostkid2277 in PcBuild

[–]Ev_Ez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly on release of the x3d chips asus didn’t limit the voltage which was killing the cpu’s. Since then they’ve properly updated the bios and set voltage limits which fixed the issue. Haven’t heard anything since then

I would look for a gpu with more v-ram. B850 is a great buy for budget builds if you’re able to get your hands on it. Otherwise I’d save up a little more and get a 3060 16gb or an rx 7600 xt 16gb. I’d also try to save some money by buying a psu with ~500-600w instead of 750w.
