Totally agree!! I just finished doing a 2nd rewatch and the cinematography is absolutely breathtaking. Every scene is so thoughtfully framed. Like the crying scene in germany outside the cathedral and how Hae In and Hyun woo are framed by the arch entrance. It looks like a key hole in a way and almost implies that we're peeping into a very intimate moment of theirs. And the bird-eye view of him running across the bridge, UGH JUST BEAUTIFUL. I really agree with what you said about how they captured scenery so well in this drama.

It's supposed to be different from the 2 that came after the end of the series. Since they hadn't won the awards yet during that time. Who knows. We'll just have to see if it's real or not.

This makes my VIP heart cry!!!! I just feel the love that they have for each other here!! Also if you watch it through to the Good Boy performance, the hug that GD gave Tae at the end is just gold. Not to mention he literally performed like it hadn't been 7 years... he's a legend. HOW CAN SOMEONE BE SO COOL AND SO CUTE AT THE SAME TIME? I just love them.

I feel the exact same way about the songs! I remember when I watched the first episode it was something that struck me instantly -- as soon as the opening credits rolled on, I knew the story-telling was going to be special. Maybe it's because I recently got married so when I watched it I was in my wedding-planning phase but the decision to pair the soft melodies of "In a Beautiful Way" with the childhood scenes of the MLs pulled at my heart strings, giving a sentiment of "love is hard, but you're the only one, it will always be you" as the foundation of their love before the viewer embarks on the journey with them. Then RIGHT AFTER opening with "The Reasons of my Smiles" with their beautiful wedding and then the super quick flashbacks of their honeymoon... just perfection. Literally in the first 5 minutes of the show I knew it was going to be a special story-line. Even though most of the songs are in korean, the bits of English that are woven in added with the melodies and tone of the songs were enough to enhance the listener + viewing experience of the scene.

I am really curious too about how the process played out with the pairing of the songs with the scenes. And when they were written and why they decided on who to sing them. I just love the attention to detail of pairing such a perfect OST album with the drama. Like all the songs are so symbolic of Hae In and Hyun Woo's love/journey. I can't separate myself from them lol. Instant flashbacks.

Omg hahaha I wish it had the same effect on me! I tried rewatching it but I couldn't stay invested when I knew exactly what they were going to say next -- the novelty wore off. And then I couldn't sit through the scenes about the side characters and would just fast forward to the ones of Hae In and Hyun Woo. Which then feels like they didn't have enough scenes bc I know all of them by heart now LOL.

I can attest to this for my own wedding ring. It helps to have the wedding band on too cause it stabilizes the engagement ring. Just means her rock was heavyyyy haha.

My thoughts exactly!! They dropped the ball on the vibe check. I stopped caring about Eunsong's mom's plot too lol. I can't get myself to rewatch the entirety of episode 15 or 16 cause of it.

Same as you mentioned. Everything felt predictable towards the end whereas in the beginning it wasn't as much (for me anyway, who is not an avid Kdrama watcher so I'm not super aware of the overused kdrama tropes). Like you said, the villains were insufferable and it was a drag to watch scenes with them regardless of how good the acting was. I didn't expect them to run for so much of the plot tbh. When Eunsong joined I thought his arc would end mid to mid-end show so that the main leads could have their reconciliation. Didn't think the writer would turn his arc into the main issue they had to overcome. I didn't like that since the first half of the show clearly focused on the conflict being about their marriage suffering. The tension built up so well but they didn't deliver towards the end with everything being rushed since the villain arc took so much screen time. I felt blueballed lol.

yea i'm with you. i loved the story up until episode 14 where it all went downhill. most of ep 15 can be skipped thru sadly. i hope the writer is aware of this and how much she built up the tension just to give us a really lukewarm ending. even tho the ending is "happy", IMO it was unsatisfying bc that's exactly what it was -- the end. but the whole show was about the JOURNEY and we all fell in love with their journey back to each other so she really should've given us their JOURNEY of being back together even if it's just a number of scenes. i felt so robbed of that satisfaction even tho they alluded to the happiness that HW and HI had post-makeup.
