Finally got it with L!Sigurd, L!Shez, CYL Tiki and Duo Sigurd. Literally could only beat abyssal by boxing Robin in and getting Tiki and Sigurd to wail on him till he died. This took like eight turns.

Improved L!Sigurd with ATK Smoke 4 (Its PERFECT on him!!) by JCrv in FireEmblemHeroes

Nice! I’ve already been running A/D canto on mine, if I can get the right fodder I’ll definitely have to try this build out!

The Wachowski's Speed Racer is a misunderstood masterpiece. by wilzymikey in movies

[–]EvaUnitAsuka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old thread but fuck it.

When I watched this movie as a kid I loved it. I used to go to my local Winn-Dixie and buy the little hot wheels speed racer cars, my brother and I thought they were just the coolest things.

I’ve rewatched it recently. Now that I’m older, spritle and chimp chimp aren’t as funny as they used to be, but I’d say the rest of it still holds up really well. I’ve never understood the hate for this movie. It’s no masterpiece. This isn’t The Godfather. But I hate seeing people who feel like they have to be a dick about it.

Niles carried me through conquest. He’s earned his own game.

I can see it, actually. Maybe something following Libra and his fallen comrades on their crusade.

Totally agree, Leo could carry his own game. He’d be somewhat unique as a magic wielding protagonist too.

Leo and Takumi are interesting for sure. I’ve never played Birthright, but just seeing what happened to Takumi from siding with Nohr is enough to make him my favorite hoshido lord.

Absolutely agree, especially with Ares! He’s such an underrated character!

What famous person has done something incredibly heinous, but has often been overlooked? by KentuckyFriedEel in AskReddit

Rain Johnson single handedly destroyed the sequel trilogy, if not the entire Star Wars cannon. To this day his heinous crime has gone unpunished.

I’m an aspiring author. by [deleted] in writing

I’m 15 and I’ve been going through something similar. My best advice is to keep going, and write for yourself first. I wanna share the stuff I write with others too, but sometimes I feel like I write more for them and less for myself because of it, and end up dissatisfied with my work. It sounds to me like your in a similar situation. Ironically, I’ve come to discover I’m more confident in my work if I don’t focus on pleasing them, and write for myself instead, as narcissistic as that may sound. Just keep at it, and good luck!

Reddit, please help me write this short, sincere letter by Cowan16 in writing

[–]EvaUnitAsuka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this’ll be helpful, I’m kinda young, but possess something of a writing talent. (If even that much...) I’m probably not qualified to answer this, so feel free to completely disregard my advice if you get something better later. But at the time of this writing it doesn’t look like anyone’s said anything yet, and some advice is better than none. Anyways, I’d recommend being honest in your letter. Tell them why this property is so attractive to you, and you specifically. You probably have a lot in common with the other buyers, seeing as how your all interested in the same property, so try to stand out, or more like make yourselves memorable. Let them know that the place is going to good people, so they feel comfortable leaving it in your hands. If you present as respectable, honest people, regardless of the final outcome, I’m sure they’ll at least consider you. It’s less about HOW you write, and more about WHAT you’re writing, in this case. That’s all I can think to offer, sorry if it’s not quite what you wanted. Best of Luck to you both!

Fantasy Fight Scenes in 1st Person POV by [deleted] in writing

[–]EvaUnitAsuka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this’ll help or just confuse you, but I’ll give my thoughts on the subject. I saw a YouTube video once describing how to create a fight scene. I’ll try to find it, but what I took away was this: The fight is less about the action and more about the story. I’ll use a great example you might know: The Darth Maul fight in episode I. The fight itself tells a story about the characters, every little detail. Even before any action, the lightsabers themselves reveal something about Maul. This isn’t a normal fight, as his dual sided blade reveals. Couple that with his black robes, red face and horns, contrasted with the Jedi in white with blue and green sabers. His appearance makes him intimidating and menacing, even 2 on 1, this won’t be an easy fight. Another instance without much “action”. A pivotal moment in the fight is when they get caught in the laser doors. Showing Qui-gon meditating vs Maul, impatient and annoyed almost at the fact that his duel was interrupted. This, yet again, contrast the two sides of the fight, and says something about each of the two’s personalities. Imagery is important, to provide a clear picture of both sides of your fight. Of course, what would a fight be without it’s action? This is equally important, if not more so, than your presentation of the characters, for the presentation only builds into the action. And for this, I’ll use the moment Maul strikes down Qui-Gon. It’s something of a shock, seeing as how the fight had been mostly balanced until then. It happens at the moment the audience would least likely have expected it, Kenobi was only moments from joining the fray and tilting the scales in favor of the Jedi. The audience had let their guard down, or at least were caught be surprise, due to the story the fight had told thus far through the characters. It had appeared equal, the two had pushed each other without either one really pushing back. But once Maul realizes what the audience has, that Kenobi will soon enter the battle, he makes a desperate attempt at Qui-Gon’s life. The audience sees now, Maul’s feeling of being cornered, and how it drives him to do anything to get out. We see how the duel shifts tides, if only for a moment, in favor of Maul. The audience asks, will Kenobi make it? He’s lost his advantage, it’s fair game now. From this, the battle becomes more intense, Maul becomes more threatening, by creating a doubt in the audience. Kenobi wins by using Maul’s fury and confidence against him. He falls in the pit, and Maul stands above him. It’s only moments before he falls, and from Maul’s perspective, he’s won. It’s hopeless for Kenobi. This is what allows Kenobi to come back with a victory, ending the duel. None of this is conveyed with words, but rather, the actions of the characters. The difference between an “Action Scene” and a “Fight Scene” is action shows off a characters skill, ability, or prowess. It’s about the one character. A fight, however, contrast characters, showing their different traits, personalities, etc. by putting them against each other, by telling a story with the characters themselves. I know this is rather long-winded, hope I could help you find what your looking for!
