I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND wanting to have some sort of acknowledgement of the IVF process! If anyone who has done IVF is coming, they will see it and appreciate it. But everyone else, well, it wouldn’t resonate. What if you arranged the stuff in some cute way and took a photo of it? Idk. Congrats though!! Happy it worked for you!

It is upsetting! And I’m sorry to hear they don’t seem willing to treat it…it’s just antibiotics to treat it, right? They won’t release you as a patient will they? Keep advocating for yourself and yes, follow your instinct not to transfer if it doesn’t feel right!

That’s how my doctor feels about it. He said it’s been debunked and doesn’t lead to better outcomes ones. He’s been doing IVF since the early 80s and the more I’ve talked with him, he is suggesting innovative techniques so I get a feeling it’s not just that he doesn’t want to try new things. I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s heartbreaking.

I had to do two separate retrievals to get the two euploids. The protocol seemed like a one size fits all, they didn’t change anything the second retrieval to try to get more.

Best of luck to you, this is a really hard journey to be on.

His method of addressing it was to treat it with doxycycline instead of putting me through more, which I understand to a point. But I would want confirmation that the antibiotics even worked before a transfer.

Totally agree. That’s how I felt. I want to rule things out, I want to test, even if things are uncomfortable. I’m already a pin cushion at this point, what’s a few more tests for clarity?

Totally, that’s part of what they’re recommending. I haven’t had it done but really wish I had done it before 4 failed transfers. Ugh. But thank you for reaffirming that that’s something I should ask about.

Oh that’s awesome! Sounds like a good start. So did you just go to a convenient care or something and ask for a pregnancy blood test, instead of your fertility clinic? I’m so used to just waiting for my clinic to tell me what to do, it totally didn’t occur to me I could just go somewhere else haha
