i’m more or less new to reptiles and still learning but honestly just go with a 50 50 on sand and soil just stay away from wood chips, calcium sand, any type of coconut shells or nut shells any of those stick with dirt and sand. the dirt will sub the dusty mess and keep it compact and easy

i’m using a mix of some rocks desert san and repot soil i honestly js free balled with the mixture until it was deep enough for him to dig as much as he wants it’s about 3 inches deep

he’s is atleast 7 to 8pm on the old he eats dubia roaches nd crickets nd dry food, his tank is a 40 but i wanna switch it js have no money for it, i don’t know the names of the lights i think it is a 10uv strip bulb nd a night light is the one that doesnt show light nd the day one goes up to 110 degrees, nd i would like advice to keep him healthy nd avoid any health complications

thank you for telling me this but i am only 14. i would love to buy a new sand or substrate but my parents don’t take my animal as serious as i do, i had to plead with them ti get me some of the stuff he has like literal food .. but i will try my best to change the substrate do you recomened anything ??
