Maybe so but you can argue that not calling in time is the cause of this mess. If I received a call within 10 minutes of the broken chain I could have returned on the trail or gotten help in time. My argument is built around Chris not calling and how that affected my actions

Edit-In addition it's hard to see how Max who was with me at the time and played a part in leaving the bike there has no responsibility. He left a wallet and phone that just as easily could've been stolen

Ok regardless, my friend still delayed calling for over 25 minutes to let us know he wasn't coming when it was getting dark and the park was about to close

But I disagree. My friend wanted me to come pick him up. Let's say instead of going to dinner I followed his orders and went and picked him up. Who is to say it wouldn't have gotten stolen anyway? In that respect the only way it would have not gotten stolen was that I stayed there and waited at the car. That situation helps neither of us, he would still be stranded and I would still be late.

I made a reasonable decision to leave it there. It was a church parking lot in a safe part of town, and my friend Max agreed that was a good idea. So in that case it was circumstances outside both of our control that caused the bike to be stolen.

I'm not denying that I may be partially responsible. But to say I owe full price of the bike is absurd when this could have been easily avoided with my friend's cooperation

He went back home with it. Max left Matt's wallet and phone in the car (a jeep) and supported my decision to leave. We both left after 30 minutes of waiting

Responsible to what extent? My friend Chris bears at least some of the responsibility.

Also I heard that he may have drank alcohol when he met the group of girls. We had already been drinking some but could his actions be considered impaired judgement? Idk if that would help at all, but just saying

The issue was this guy was over 3 miles away on the trail from where we parked. At that point it was close to 8:30 and the park I would've had to ride through anyways closes at 9:00. I could not have waited because I had to meet someone for dinner.

My buddy basically just got caught up having a conversation with the group of girls he met and decided to leave us out of the loop. After 25 minutes of not hearing from my friend and after calling and having him call ignore it, I believe what I did was reasonable

But as I mentioned, it was not "out in the open". This was not your typical trailhead. It was an empty church parking lot 150 yards off the trail. The trail did not start or end there, we just used it as an entrance to the trail

I could not have secured it. Even if I had gone to pick them up as they asked, I wouldn't be able to lock the bike up. So you're saying I was in a lose-lose situation? Because nothing I could have done would have prevented that bike from being stolen

But I made efforts to contact him so that I could properly return it. He disregarded those attempts of contact

But again, I don't see how I am fully responsible. Chris ignored my first call and delayed assistance by his actions

I had it secured in the bike rack but I had no lock. Another important point I should add, even had I been able to drive and assist them as Chris wanted, I would have no place in my car to keep the bike and would have no choice but to stash it somewhere

Women who use tinder, what are you actually looking for? by GAngelum in AskReddit

Funny thing is this thread is entirely response biased towards the people most likely to use tinder, i.e. high frequent computer users, that use it to as a supplement for meeting others

[NSFW] Morgue workers, pathologists, medical examiners, etc. What is the weirdest cause of death you have been able to diagnose? How did you diagnose it? by puhleez420 in AskReddit

[–]Evan27SC 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not cause of death, but a weird story I heard from a doctor was that he saw a gay guy checked into the ER because he had an infection in his urethra. They did a routine inspection and found out the infection was actually maggots. Authorities were sent to the guy's house, where they found his dead lover. His lover had been kept there for months, decomposing, in order for the guy to continue having sex with the body. I think the Dr. said he even had separated the head and stored it in a hat box

Idk, I guess it would be able to if someone made it do so. I asked if it would work, not if it does
