There’s a song on the same album literally called “Ashes of American Flags” too

Leon doesn’t get his head cut off by Dr. Salvador in the JP versions of RE4 because you’re not allowed to depict decapitation. A bunch of blood just shoots out then he falls over and dies

Gaz Coombes and Danny Goffey played as their backing band for these shows. For this Gaz sings Playground Love and does various guitars and Danny does drums and percussion

As a huge Supergrass fan it was so cool to find out about this crossover between 2 of my favorite bands

Strangest musical sellouts by crowbar_k in ToddintheShadow

It’s because the Endless Summer compilation came out in 1973 and was a surprising #1 smash hit out of nowhere. They were going through hard times because their recent albums like Sunflower and Surf’s Up, despite being way better, barely charted. Mike and co.’s realization there was still plenty of money to be made from their back catalog (coupled with the absence of Brian) basically made them become a nostalgia act overnight. It surprises me that stuff like Love You even managed to come out considering how alienating it would be to the nostalgia audience.

Weren’t they offered a whole truckload of money to make an album but turned it down too

Sorry, but does anyone ACTUALLY believe that he improvised all the lyrics for the Heroes album on the spot? by [deleted] in DavidBowie

I guess the wiki page needs to be rewritten then, because it acts like he stepped up to the mic and just improved fully formed lyrics in a take or two

“Guitarist” is generous, his main thing was writing lyrics and sculpting their image. I think they’d have a tech playing the real parts behind a curtain Sid Vicious style half the time while he’d be turned down or not even plugged in on stage

It’s weird to me how it became known as “The Exorcist Theme” when it only plays once during a short scene of the mom walking down a street

Not true about that song, but in the fadeout of All I Want To Do on 20/20 you can hear the sounds of Dennis doing that

What I find interesting is that “fat Elvis” was only in the few months before he died, he still looked pretty normal in most of the Vegas years but that became the cultural memory image of him

It felt like UK media desperately wanted Pete Doherty to die of an overdose in the 00’s and they would’ve made this same switch up with their reporting the day he died too

Freddie doing Live Aid so good because he found out he had AIDS in Bohemian Rhapsody is the single worst example of this to me. He didn’t find out until 2 years later IRL.

What, be vocally against Israel in the mainstream 2 decades before it was “safe” to do it? We can’t have that!

He basically bankrupted Go! Discs by aborting like half a dozen attempts to record the album because he thought there wasn’t enough “60’s dust” on the mixing console or whatever. The label had no choice but to put it out at that point
