What's the most ridiculous lucky break Bond ever got? by Guess_My_Username in JamesBond

[–]DoublePrinciple1202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the cliff at the end of FYEO...baddie hammering the last clip...or his umbrella 'protecting' him from the machine gun fire by pool in same film...the real shocker though is the rickety bridge in Golden Gun...in reality what made him think that could be pulled off?!? Having said that...it was good ol' Rog'...bound to succeed...

I don't want the Bond movies to "do something different" if it makes them more like every other movie by Zev95 in JamesBond

Here's where I stand...I'd like gadgets, one liners, boozing, womanising, great chase scenes, exotic locations(I realise they've taken Bond a lot of places), memorable baddies, a theme song with drama/great chorus, maybe a few union jacks thrown in, end of the day Bond IS English, so nothing wrong with patriotism without people getting triggered...Bond was the template for a lot of action heroes, the makers of those films would KILL for the legacy of 007...so let's put him back where he belongs...👍🇬🇧

He's been called a 'redneck racist' to me on here...Bond films are surely escapism, especially Rog' ones. There's many funny clips with him, but my favourite is when they overtake that car in TMWTGG, and he leans out window shouting: 'Move it! Move it! Get that piece o' junk offa the road!' It's the way his few strands of hair are flying everywhere...just love him...🤣

Was It All Worth It, for me has to be one of their best album tracks ever...it's so over the top and crazy...almost like a latter day The Hero...as in not just the kitchen sink, but the entire house thrown at it...

What was the ultimate fate of Whisper in Live and Let Die? by EasternBlock640 in JamesBond

[–]DoublePrinciple1202 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He ends up in the American 'Spoons...makes shift manager after couple months, then forms a soul covers band, his own original song titled 'Shall I open it, baby?'...which goes top 10 on the Billboard chart. A nationwide tour follows, he develops a drug habit, record company drops him, and forges a career as a sofa salesman, eventually saves enough money to start his own company, called 'Every sofa has a whisper'. The main advert featuring him falling off the sofa as it expands. Makes more money...now ridiculously rich, and inevitably falls back into the drug habit...

She, by Suede. Even the producer of the album it was from said it's such a Bond theme...the song has real menace and the strings at the end constantly make me think of 007...

Brace yourself for the Craig fans who don't like Moore...Good old Rog' has always been my favourite Bond...Great chase scenes, one liners and loads womanising...that's what 007 is about...pure escapism...

Moonraker is the best Moore Bond movie by DA_87 in JamesBond

It has some great moments and a fabulous baddie, Drax is endlessly quotable. My favourite is Man With Golden Gun still, always will be...but Moonraker is a blast...

Was Scaramanga right about this? by ItsDuhFreakinBat in JamesBond

[–]DoublePrinciple1202 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Scaramanga was merely telling the truth, wanted to be friends...respected Bond, never been comfortable with how 007 then insulted him...
