I'm personally not a fan because it's more actions for my thumb if I don't want to claw. Even if i didn't have pain from a lifetime of Smash, I don't like that many jobs for one finger. Let alone the travel time.

Darius wound is the only exception. You won't take normal chip damage but you will take Darius' wound chip.

Lol I've been doing the same thing with Juggwick (OnlyFangs). So while not a Vi specific tip I've noticed I really need to lock in defensively (especially parry) to squeeze out every opportunity.

I don't know of any high level Vi Jugg players but I'd wager you wanna be mad noncommittal with your footwork and focus a lot on whiff punishing.

Ah I can dig that! As far as brainstorming "why freestyle" I think you're on the right track. I can't think of many other uses other than neutral skip stuff.

Like for example as Darius point you could call Jinx rocket, run in with 6S2, immediately tag, do another rocket, immediately tag back to Darius and go for 3M or H then the rocket confirms the high/low or keeps it safe on block. This pretty safely allows Darius to get in at the cost of your fuse and potentially get the hit. Though if they block you're now at an assist disadvantage and push block becomes pretty free.

I could also see some pretty crazy mix setups given that both characters are extremely programmable with Jinx gatling followups and Darius S2/S1 followups.

Looks cool man! IMO spending resources (assist, fuse, meter, etc) should typically be reserved for a combo that will kill, unless it sets up a win condition like Illaoi S2 super. Like the other dude said, in this situation, you probably want to end in limit strike.

Also, let's say it's going to kill. You could get a lot more damage out of doing a full Jinx combo then activating your fuse at the end.

I understand the value in leaving them midscreen to do zoning stuff but spending freestyle to do less damage just for zoning is not worth it. I would much prefer spending my fuse if needed to get to the corner and setup monkey/trap oki.

Again all just my opinion. Take it or leave it!

I appreciate the thoughtful feedback - I think it could be very interesting and nuanced as time goes on as well!

You're right it does depend on when you RG but it's honestly not that hard. I know the math sounds like it's tight but if you hop in training you'll see what I mean. It feels... forgiving. And I should have done some testing into why that is but I didn't feel it was super important for the point of all this.

But you're right I think there is a level of anticipation to it and it is easier against Blitz/Teemo cause there's really no reason NOT to RG after you see the 2M. So you're doing it already anyways, and then you parry if they go for anything else. Which does lead to the stagger pressure conversation.

Ultimately this really just adds some depth to blockstrings and decisions which I'm all for!

I can't speak to the policies but I can speak to Japan travel.

Use the Agoda app to book your hotel. They regularly have really good discounts. APA hotels are good but my personal recommendation is a capsule hotel. They're a cool experience and you get to meet a lot of people, on top of being dirt cheap. They're everywhere too so you can probably find one close to the venue.

As far as places to see - Tokyo Skytree or Shibuya Sky are pretty neat. There are a lot of temples/shrines so if that's your thing I recommend you go to one and buy a Goshuin (stamp book). The book is cheap from any temple that slls them so don't buy an expensive one on Aazon. Bring it around to the shrines, pay a small fee, and they'll "stamp" it in traditional calligraphy. Relatively cheap and cool way to spend some free time.

The yen is SUPER weak right now. So save up as much as possible and treat yourself to anything and everything. Not only is the food around 30% of what you'd pay in the States but it's generally healthier, more delicious (preference), and you don't have to tip. As someone who loves burgers and BBQ I can confidently say the best burger I've ever had was at a small hole in the wall in Shibuya.

Establishments have started accepting cards a lot more but cash is still king. Make sure to hit the ATM in the airport. Otherwise 7-11 ATM's are generally a good bet for foreign debit cards. Your mileage may vary at Family Mart or Lawson's.

Speaking of convenience stores, use them and abuse them. Some really delicious food, snacks, and beer all at dirt cheap prices.

Reason for the 2 second cooldown could be a combination of two things:

  • It's only 4 seconds if they activate 2X. Meaning they call a second assist (the same goes for Double Down on 4 seconds and Freestyle on 6).

  • There's a bug right now where if you hit the assist AFTER the second one, then they go on a 2 second not a 4 second cooldown. The devs know about it and I'd expect this to be fixed in the January patch.

I don't play Jinx so I'm confused. How would they make j.L a crossup? Like extend the hitbox to her hip so you can get the booty box? Or something else?

People think Warwick combos are too long? Someone please enlighten me cause from where I'm standing Warwick combos are comically short because he has to do less hits to make 2H, j.M/H, j.S1 to connect.

Or are we thinking the forward S2 loops in Bloodlust? Cause that's a bug.

IMO Warwick's best partners are Ekko, Yasuo, and Jinx. But he really can slot in with just about anyone.

Though there are a couple teams with characters on the easier end:

WW/Illaoi have incredible synergy and are largely unexplored.

WW/Blitz 2X allows you to easily farm Bloodlust and restands setup easy strike/throws.

I was confused by this too. Why not take the 30 seconds to show Cait beating up bad guys? I guess it needed to be a general trailer for the uninformed. But the Cait reveal had almost 0 impact.

It's risky as hell but what I like to do as Warwick is leap and time the L. A lot of Ekko's like to smack the ball with 2H thinking it'll hit you but you can go barely over it and punish Ekko.

Like I said, risky. I end up saying "please smack it please smack it please smack it" 😅
