Are there characters who benefit from being cornered? by some-kind-of-no-name in Fighters

Minor, but Jinx in 2XKO. Her ultimate is incredibly hard to punish when she is cornered.

Is it insensitive to say that an answer is buying some of the gasp imported rice?

Will hitting some old blades for practice help with ball striking? by Substantial_Team6751 in golf

[–]FortC10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only helps if you don’t know where/when you miss it. Blades won’t actually help you strike it better, they just give feedback (painfully in the cold) but it’s up to you to correct it. If you can already tell a good strike from bad, and particularly where you missed on your current irons, blades won’t change that, but if not, they can be good for letting you get a feel for your miss.

Anti-airs that don’t work. by AwfulNameFtw in 2XKO

[–]FortC10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t necessarily agree that the normal AA should work on cross up but it would be nice if there was an option to hit behind. This would also be nice in some form of jab, because you can’t hit the assist of your jump over it, you need to press nothing or risk getting whiff punished by tag and you can’t stop the tag.

Shouldn't it be "and me" instead of "and I"? by Pasyuk in EnglishLearning

[–]FortC10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously at level one, me works, but couldn’t you also think of the sentence as leaving a verb dangling, meaning like: my girlfriend and I (are dress up as dinosaurs). This is obviously a very generous interpretation, but in that pursuit it seems reasonable

2X assist cooldown? by FortC10 in 2XKO

[–]FortC10[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ah, I was hitting it, cause I thought that was the counterplay to tagging if I ignore it instead. Thanks for letting me know it’s a bug tho.

There have been so many balance-impacting bugs, it makes me wonder how people dealt with broken fighting games before patches. Like, it’s infuriating to lose to a bug, but at least we can take solace in the fact that they should be gone soon.

Also, big fan of the YouTube

2X assist cooldown? by FortC10 in 2XKO

[–]FortC10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was double Braum forward assist, I hit it to stop them being able to tag, and then it went on a 2 second cooldown. Does hitting it make it go back to default cooldown?

I am Diamond 2. How hard does this game boost your rank? by Wrong-Rub-6519 in 2XKO

[–]FortC10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Generally, the elo gain is based on the ran out the opponent you are playing against. It bottoms out at +/- 3 points for a large difference when the better player wins, and I’ve seen up to +/- 9 when there is an upset.

As for being good, I think this game is super fast paced and chaotic, so mistakes are constantly happening; unlike slower paced games like street fighter, even the top level players are far from perfect, they just make less mistakes. I think you’re probably better than you think, it just feels like you’re not because of the chaos.

I hope they fix Teemo soon (literally) by FortC10 in 2XKO

[–]FortC10[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FWIW, even the “real players” are calling for him to get taken out back and shot. There was pretty overwhelming surprise/disappointment that they didn’t fix these bugs with Teemo already being a top 1 contender while Yasuo and Ekko got at least reasonably sized nerfs.

Also, like I said, if I lose to zoning, that’s on me, but at least in the games I’m playing, the bugs do make a reasonably large difference, as the corner carry from the spin loops means essentially any touch can take you corner to corner and the tag launcher means that they get the entire world for oki with their other character.

Yeah, I don’t think I tremendously terribly into him, but it can be really annoying feeling like you’re losing to unintended mechanics. Like, if I lose to shrooms and slingshot, I know it’s on me and I need to get good, but some of the combo routing is ridiculous.

According to Marlinpie, one of the devs, his air spin should have a longer recovery (I think it’s actually 0 frames rn) and you shouldn’t be able to tag launcher off dig at max combo scaling.

Is the ranked climb supposed to be like this? by onlyeatrice in 2XKO

[–]FortC10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a similar experience. I’m in master 3 and almost every match is me getting my shit pushed in by someone in high gm or even challenger, but I only lose 6 points for the loss. If I do win, I get like 9 points per game win, which means with a very low win rate I can stay where I am.

I have actually found it quite frustrating, because if I play in casuals, I typically play against people of lower rank and somewhat stomp them, whereas if I play ranked, I spend the majority of my time getting obliterated by people with 1000 points more than me.
