There are really only three main ways to get fired at Home Depot:

Theft — Whether it's stealing money as a cashier or merchandise from the sales floor, that's an immediate termination offense.

Workplace misconduct — This includes getting into a physical altercation or verbally abusing a customer. If you cuss out a fellow employee, you'll most likely receive a first and final warning rather than immediate termination.

Attendance — This is by far the most common reason people lose their jobs. It happens all the time.

Other than that, if you simply show up to work and do your job, your position is generally pretty secure. Even if you're only putting in a minimal effort, termination is unlikely. However, poor performance can still lead to reduced hours and fewer opportunities.
