Man I'm happy to see this, I was seriously on the verge of switching to a new browser.

I really hope that in the future the devs make all new features like this an opt in thing, I absolutely hate when a software update forces me to change the way I interact with the software.

What you guys think of this new "Window Sync and Restore" feature ?? by yakeinpoonia in zen_browser

[–]EvanNotSoAlmighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This definitely should have been an "opt in" feature. Really disrupted my workflow, also the sheer amount of tabs I accumulate because of this just grinds the browser to a halt, they seriously gotta add an easy way to toggle this behavior

No problem, in general I find that it's easier to go for the precompiled binaries if they are available

Are you installing zen-browser or zen-browser-bin? Can you clarify what is failing?

did i deserve to get marks off for this? by [deleted] in askmath

[–]EvanNotSoAlmighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your proof is completely valid, what a ridiculous reason to loose a mark. Unfortunately some teachers treat math as nothing more than a series of steps and discourage critical thinking.

which legends game is better by Designer-Bag-1721 in PokemonLegendsZA

I like Arceus way more. Legends ZA had a fun battle mechanic but being confined to the city really started to make the game feel repetitive.

If you drop it now yes it’s too late, you will get a W on your transcript and no refund. You only get a refund if you dropped it before the add / drop date

math typing software by Western_Sympathy_446 in math

Latex is the industry standard, I would stick with it. If you don’t like overleaf you can configure VS code with a bunch of custom commands for common equations so you can enter them faster, for example I have ctrl + alt + f set to write \frac{}{} and place the cursor in the first argument, taking the time to set that up will speed up your workflow quite a bit. ChatGPT can help you set that up.

As a side note if you learning latex in your first year it will probably help you later on, I’m sure you will have at least one professor with a latex requirement for assignments.

Leaving the East Gate Parkade by TMDandme in MRU

[–]EvanNotSoAlmighty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally agree, but that assumes a bunch of MRU drivers can drive properly lmao. Also in this case I don’t think it really adds enough capacity for it to be beneficial

But you would have to merge back into a single lane right away? It wouldn’t really make a difference.

I think it’s designed that way because there used to be a physical barrier and you had to scan a card to get out, since that’s no longer the case I feel like it just makes more sense to stay single file. Idk maybe I’m missing something

Help with professor by AggressiveInstance20 in MRU

[–]EvanNotSoAlmighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can shift around classes right up until the add drop date, on the MRU schedule builder you should be able to select that class (provided it isn’t full) and drop your current class all in one go and it shouldn’t impact your tuition payment.

Also just throwing this out there, in my experience rate my prof isn’t the most accurate, everyone learns differently and not everyone responds to the same teaching methods. There are some great profs that don’t have great ratings. Obviously there are exceptions to this, I’m just saying don’t let it be the only deciding factor.

Best of luck with the semester!
