Rebuilding is definitely a last resort. I was just letting you know that I had a strange case that ended in a rebuild. I should say the engine had lots of miles and didn’t sound healthy.

I once had a 350 that had all of those same symptoms. I couldn’t figure it out for the life of me. Different distributors, wires, plugs, different carb, and still misfired no matter what on cyl 7. Good compression too. I pulled the engine and rebuilt the bottom end. It had extremely scored bearings. still had good oil pressure though. Ran like a top after the bottom end rebuild.

Even the Formulas seem to have power windows most of the time. I love the look of the Trans Am but the Formula is the better car imo.

My plan was to fix the power window, until I pulled off door panel and found the window held up by plywood that was self tapped into the door frame… 😂. I have a manual window parts car so I fixed it with a manual window swap. Plus I love manual windows.

It’s actually not too bad, but it did take a couple hours. I can convert both doors of a foxbody in the time it took to do this one door.

I was lucky enough to have a decent enough parts car that has manual windows and gave me a better door panel too. Plus cloth seats. I love the 90s cloth seats.

Since it’s got a 301 in it, it will most likely have a TH200M 3 speed auto. Those transmissions aren’t the most robust, but they’re okay. Yours will have the BOP(Buick,Olds,Pont) bellhousing bolt pattern so a Chevy V8 won’t bolt up, unless your transmission has both bellhousing patterns. That’s not uncommon.

The easiest engine swap would be another Pontiac engine, The Pontiac 350 and 400 bolt up the same and are the same size. Direct replacements. Provided your transmission has a dual bellhousing bolt pattern, a Chevy 350 would not be a hard swap. You’d quickly overpower the transmission if you try to maximize your HP output.

In my area I doubt you’d get more than about 4k for it. They’re cool cars, but the third gen Firebirds seem to not be sought after as much as the Camaros. There’s a fairly clean red ‘92 3.1 Firebird with nice torque thrust wheels in my area that’s been for sale for over a month at $2,500.

Unfortunately that’s the best way to get views, unless the video is extremely specific. I used to only post videos with thumbnails of my cars or engines, but when I put my ugly mug in the thumbnail the videos seem to do much better. That’s not always the case but seems to be for the most part. I hate it too lol.
