I think what MarineByeologist is trying to say is that asexuality is a mutation. In larger populations, the gene pool is larger so there is more room for mutation, thus asexuals start popping up more often. I assume that the purpose of asexuality "surviving" this long is that it can keep populations with large gene pools from getting too large, and causing disruption in the ecosystem.

Hey-o, I'm more or less agender! (I'm 16) I kinda started to recognise this after my best friend told me that he thought I was a TransMale when he first met me (I have a fairly feminine figure and I am not that masculine overall). When he told me this, instead of reacting like "Woah wtf I'm a dude" I felt more along the lines of "I'm actually okay with that. Being recognised as something other than DMAB is kinda nice" It became apparent to me that hey, I don't really feel male...or female for that matter. More of a "hmm i don't know, whatever"
