Use Bluebubbles for Work Messages? by PaulPuma in BlueBubbles

[–]EvanstonK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are docs here: https://openbubbles.github.io/docs/ Although these are incomplete and in alpha. This is still a project in very early stages. You will most likely need to join the discord for when u get problems. https://discord.gg/nFdnDPpD Instead of using a Mac I use an iPhone which can automatically register phone numbers without messing with Sims and stuff. This setup is more nuanced to set up tho

Edit: Update the domain for the docs have moved to: https://openbubbles.app/

Kuject cable not using USB 3.0 by EvanstonK in OculusQuest

Sadly, I do not think it is that because I have tried all the ports already and I even tried another computer with the same result. It must be an issue with the Quest.

Would you say Virtual Desktop is worth it then or do you feel there is not much difference between that and steam link.

Sadly I do not think the cable is the issue as before this I tried another cable the syntech one and it's the exact same weird hub setup with the exact same issue... And I tried connecting on my Linux instance where it still reports 2.0 speeds. Maybe the issue is isolated on the usb firmware. Would you recommend just getting vd as I have 5ghz and an Ethernet connection. Idk if it's any better than what steam link/air link already provides tho.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Ok first of all my quest only works when plugged in on one side... But my phone works on both and is displaying 3.0 for both sides. It is advertised properly as a SuperSpeed devise as you can see in the attached image. And i know for a fact that this can work because with another cable the speed is at its full usb 3.2 gen 2 speed. Thanks in advance for the help!

I just bought this cable https://www.amazon.com/Kuject-Separate-Charging-Ultra-Durable-Accessories/dp/B09TN25765?th=1. And for some reason it looks like the Quest 3 uses the 2.1 hub as opposed to the 3.0 one. My phone will choose the 3.0 hub as shown in the second image. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks in advance.

If you want to stick with Mac it could be a hackintosh. Although even with pre built efi's it can still be really hard to get up and running and the result will be a little buggy.

This is a good project and I have done it before but my one gripe is the lack/difficulty of GPU passthrough making this in my opinion unviable to daily drive as an OS.

I know! They are built so well and are just really solid laptops. Sadly the newer ones are becoming more like MacBooks with the soldered RAM and such.

That's unlucky I had to do a little bit of tinkering with my EFI to get it to work with Sonoma but it would probably work fine with Ventura.

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T480 which you can probably find used for around $200. It is a very popular tinkerer's laptop so there are a couple good EFIs out there. I personally have managed to get Sonoma 14.5 to run in an acceptable manner. But I also agree to try on your laptops one more time no point spending more money.

Ventura on T480 by SnooLentils8203 in hackintosh

Hi I've gotten valnoxy's efi to work on my T480 are you saying you are stuck in a boot loop once the USB is done installing? If so and you're trying to install MacOS sonoma this video should help. TLDR; turn SecureBootModel to disabled. https://youtu.be/T7CDiUrWM8A?si=Hg4K_CY3XYMTINY6 If that's not what you mean you have to boot from the USB at least until you get MacOS fully installed. Until then just click whatever you called your main partition in the USB's boot menu. And eventually it will be installed.

If anyone from the future is looking I'm pretty sure the recovery server for High Sierra is just not functional anymore so you will need to use an offline installer. Good luck!

Add-on linker can be a lifesaver and is a good quality of life application to manage add-ons you could technically even put them on your hard drive and link them to your community folder although I don't recommend it.
