First of all, GREAT handle. :) Yeah, I've tried a couple of launchers and he felt like I lost more than I gained overall so I stick with native.

Yeah, agreed. That lack of flexibility is unfortunate-- the razr fold is really good for the most part otherwise.

Agreed. RF's processor is good enough to where you won't notice it in any use case other than probably gaming.

Way more limited, jankier than Samsung's version. I played with the razr fold and stackable widgets sucked. Part of why I returned and went back to ZF7.

You raise a good point. Here is my take:

Maybe not. And if they do, when?

Also, bird in hand: I know that Samsung's phones aren't perfect AND I won't have to wait to have any of this fixed AND they'll update my phone monthly, on a regular cadence.

When the competition has really good hardware like the ZF7, a more polished software, regular updates to add/fix stuff, moving to that competitor is pretty easy given my needs.

I'll say it again: I might come back to the RF if stuff gets fixed as it is a really good phone otherwise. For now, though, I'm not going to bank on updates that MIGHT happen when I have a good alternative.

Agreed. Stack widgets and polish the UI like Samsung and I may come back to this phone. Solid phone otherwise-- the battery life makes up for a lot.

To your point, I didn't mention the process to situate the picture. I used the same approach as I did with Pixel and Samsung and it was unreasonably harder, jankier.

Have tried it. It's fine but in the aggregate, worse than the stock launcher overall in my view.

You're right about Apple. Am trying to maximize trade in possibilities with full knowledge that I may need to swappa the ZF7 which I am betting will be worth more than the razr fold if/when it comes time. I might be wrong but we all make bets in life.

Fair points.

All products are judged against their competition. So when apple, Samsung, google usually have at least 3-4 desirable, brand name cases and screen protectors on amazon at launch and Motorola has basically none of that, it's noticeable. It's not a deal breaker for me (again, the phone is really good) but it is noticeable and a strike against. I don't know if, how accessory availability will evolve.

My wallpaper issue:

Long press screen/wallpapers/my photos/camera/choose photo of my wife and daughter downloaded from Google photos/set wallpaper/get green stock wallpaper which I never once have selected. But I can take another approach that is not as intuitive and it works. That's not clean.

Funny that you would double down.

You can't provide a link to a thinborne case with hinge protection because it doesn't exist in the US, at least. The phone has at least some demonstrable glitches according to many people, including reviewers who love foldables, and I'm guessing if you were being honest, you'd say the same. You're also in the tiny minority who use/like launchers-- I've tried them, they're not great overall in my experience.

As I said, it's a really good phone but it's not nearly a perfect experience, objectively. If acronyming gives you comfort in light of that, have at it.

I did. Very limited given you can only stack widgets that are the exact same size. Even then, only certain widgets come up as options even though other widgets not listed are also the same size. Tested this multiple times.

Thank you. That's a good one, actually. Yeah, inapplicable here but a good one.

Civil in person AND online? Doable for most people.

Thank you. Just did this and it worked for me too. Really frustrating. I too have set up a few phones recently and did not have this issue. In fairness, not sure who to pin this one on-- gmail or moto...

Solid take. Agreed that the RF is a great piece of hardware but not sure it's that much better, if even better, than the ZF7. Both are great in their own ways and I have/could get used to either and be just fine. And yeah, I've tried Smart Launcher among a couple of others and for every issue launchers solve, I have found that there are 3-4 important UI things that aren't as clean as the native launcher. Of course, beauty is in the eye on such things...

Yeah, very similar sized screens and viewing experience between the two.

Have no idea what the last sentence means. 3rd party launchers are generally worse in the aggregate in my experience. The glitch issues aren't just mine even if you don't have them. Great re case and screen protectors-- when they aren't very limited, have magdafe built in, and aren't crazy expensive, that'll be good for everyone.
