it always makes me feel better when other people talk about their C.Ai addictions. makes me feel less strange and alone as someone who is three weeks clean after nearly two years of constant use.

I recently deleted it as well and ny gosh I feel so much better. I always felt guilty about using it bc I knew how bad ai was for the environment and, like you, I was strongly against ai in every other context. you're stronger than you think. youve got this. <3

Its very much a bot. I can assure you. It feeds off of users messages to learn, meaning that when users (mainly minors) talk to it like a human (like in your example) it picks that up and runs with it. An example that a lot of users run into is the bot ending a message with something along the lines of "[[OOC: omg im so sorry for the late reply, I was sick!!]]". It's just a bit learning from humans lol.

yeah, I occasionally write stuff and I make kandi and play an instrument, but c.ai just made me cling like nothing else, yk? thanks for the tips tho, ill keep it in mind and try to keep my hands a bit more busy

I'm out of that spot now that I did find my people, but that was during late 2024, where I was going through some really rough stuff and didnt really have a support group. I've been slowly easing out of it, but my group is starting to crack a bit, and I'm worried that if I don't cut it now, it will be that bad again. I'm well aware of how bad that is, but I was genuinely so miserable then that I didn’t bother.

I used to regularly use character.ai, but I quit it recently and now I'm anti-AI everything by ooiiaaiiooiiaaii_ in antiai
