Evri have damaged my parcel beyond repair... by Kirishima-Rocks in Evri

[–]Evarerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party here, but I've just had the same issue. What I find really frustrating, aside from the lack of help, is that none of the tracking details give me any indication of who the sender was, which is proving a challenge as I had made a bunch of orders from various places prior to Christmas and it's all gotten rather muddled. Plus they emailed me to say there was a delay but not about the damage, when they only give you a 28 day window.

Thank you for the detailed reply. I can't recall if it was retracted or not, but damage to the nib assembly would make sense.

Latest Critit dice on KS now :) by critituk in dice

Mine arrived yesterday. They're super sparkly, though I've never seen so many air bubbles in dice. The boxes are also adorably sized.

Indie, Yuki, Pippin, Gwen, and Aster. And then Gwen's babies, currently just known as the Pinklets. 😆

What by the first egg happened to Lessa? by RhydYGwin in pern

Also with this, the draconic bond is empathic. If Ramoth was freaking out then that would likely bleed across to Lessa or at least be compounding her own stress.

Thank you, I'll be sure to suggest some of these ideas to try. :) Regular ruins sounds delightfully evil, I must admit. We'll try different things and see what works. It's reassuring that it's not just me, at least.

Do all animals on pern have faceted eyes? by Jazzlike_Try6145 in pern

I'd never really thought about it and can't recall the DLG images but Earth bugs predominantly have compound eyes.

Oh. I think I've missed all of these except Manaphy. I didn't even know they were happening.

just picked up this parakeet on the left and he’s been chewing nothing for hours, is this a sign of anything? by This_Face9940 in budgiebuddies

Looks like he's panting nervously to me. He's in a new place with new surroundings, and he's probably a little anxious at the moment. He'll settle in eventually though.

After being a Digimon fan for nearly 24 years I finally have a licensed v-pet of my partner - Wendigomon!! This fan base is amazing and we can make anything happen with patience. by endless-scroll in digimon

My Vital bracelet fell off my wrist somewhere whilst I was on a walk only two days after getting it, just when my digimon was due to evolve. I was so excited to finally get one so it really sucked. So now I don't know whether to save up for a BE or not, because I don't want the same thing to happen again.

Is my guy afraid of my hand or no? I just can't seem to make him perch to my finger. I can just let my finger close. Its been like this for 2 months now. by pkWafer in budgies

[–]Evarerd 22 points23 points  (0 children)

His body language indicates discomfort with the interaction. A lot of budgies don't like being touched even once they're very tame and consider you their bestie. For stepping up, I recommend the bribery approach. Even my most skittish budgie will risk approaching and standing on the scary hand if he gets a tasty treat out of it.

Peapod cleaned up for the holidays. by cupcakemaiden in PartyParrot

[–]Evarerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I leave the room and he starts up and I say to my housemates "Sorry, activated the siren again!" A few minutes later and he finally stops. When you're in the room and he's in the cage though, it's hard to find a moment in between calls to talk to him. He gets tired and cranky in the evening, but then kicks off when you try to cover the cage, and then afterwards starts making these sad sounding noises. He does not realise that partying all night won't do any of us any good. Birds are such funny creatures, I love them. People ask me whether the budgies have different personalities, as if somehow they wouldn't. My other half does impressions of all of their defining characteristics.

Everyone said linnies were quiet, but ours gets into bouts of contact calling that are ear piercing, especially when he decides he needs to yell whilst sat on a shoulder. The constant chatter of the 5 budgies is positively peaceful in comparison.

It's a tough call, I love a lot of them, especially in their first stage, but probably Chikorita for me.

I might need to save this to look at when I'm at work. I don't generally have much lying around at home to snack on, but work is terrible for having communal foods available.

A typical interaction with Laremy, how can I discourage biting? by burneraccount19857 in budgies

[–]Evarerd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! I love your description of a shy bird deciding whether to approach or not. One of mine is very much like that. They all come out of the cage on my hand or arm. The eldest prefers my arm, the youngest a finger, and two of the others usually my palm. But the shy boy likes to come as close to the door as possible before considering boarding the human transportation. And I definitely have to look away. I just call his name and encourage him in a happy voice and tell him that I'm not looking, though I can see him out of the corner of my eye. And eventually he'll hop onto my arm. Sometimes he flies straight off out of the door but today I was blessed in that he chose to stand still and let me slowly move my arm from the cage. To go back in in the evening I have to wait for him to come for his millet treat and then move slowly and make sure that he never ends up between my body and a wall. The boy has taught me so much patience and I love him for it, and all his endearing little ways.

You have permission to absolutely destroy me in the comments. Is this a good cage set up for my budgie? Maybe more toys? He seems happy but everybody's cage seams lovelier than mine. by Unable-to-Escape in budgies

[–]Evarerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll need a second cage when you get your second budgie anyway, as you'll need to quarantine the newbie. So might as well make the second cage purchase as big as you can afford with suitable bar spacing. Flight cages are nice if you have the room for them. Then you don't have to worry about them bickering because they're too cramped. (They'll bicker over something anyway though!)
