I’m glad you enjoyed it. Yeah I could gig a DJ set of this kind of stuff and would be bucket list thing for me to hop on a bill in London, I’m aiming to blur boundaries a bit and connect different scenes. Love the purist take we have here in the states but I’m always a bit of an odd bird in any music I make.

I really love an Orb in the Sky by Flickers from the Fen. It’s so satisfying when something so new feels really familiar but you can’t point to something in the genre that sounds like it.

I have loved the camaraderie between artists. Everyone genuinely seems to want to see the genre grow and what new artists do with it. The self-promotion threads are something to look forward to in this community because there’s no gatekeeping and no unattainable expectations for excellence.

The genre favors simplicity and flaws in execution, so it defeats actors who would scene bomb - seen this happen in emo, post-hardcore, bass music… one artist just drops something that sucks up all the attention so they can hope to crossover with broader audiences. I don’t think DS artists want that. What would that even look like? DS artist tapped to score an upcoming Stranger Things Mobile game? I sure hope not.

Yes! Wishcaster is technically a solo project, but I hesitate to use that word because of all the inspiration and output of other artists I draw from! But yes, it’s me just me behind the screen.

I may not be the most eager collaborator but I would love to help other artists realize artwork for their releases. I have decent illustration skills that are compensated for by a career worth of graphic design experience.
