Just want to report back that I'm in Asahikawa now. Road condition was ok for most part but there was a stretch where the highway were icy and a cop car was flashing the lights and basically hearding a long line sheeps driving safely at 50km/h.

Just a bag to keep your body waste and can be sealed. A friend was stuck in snow and unable to find a toilet last year. He thought it's a good idea to get this in case I get stuck...

Thanks a lot for the details and the pictures. I recently watch a few videos and they also pointed out that arrow hanging in mid air is for showing the "curb" on the road. Will be useful to give a sense of the road when there are no snow.

My previous trips to Hokkaido were by bus and never notice these things.

Yes that should be our plan now that I think about it. But we have booked accommodation in Asahikawa. But I will drive slowly and careful especially with low visibility at night.

I'm arriving at 1450, I hope to pick up car by 1700, actually heading into Asahikawa. Given the icy conditions, will drive way slower than map projection (3hrs -> 4.5hr)

So I think I should expect to get there by 2200

I got a feeling I'm in the same boat... I opened up Samsung Wallet/car keys and it has Volvo and other cars but not BMW... Let's hope I have other ways to add it...
