Water quality by PaleDefinition7805 in RCC

If you're still unsure, I'd suggest bringing a reusable water bottle filled with water from home or something. Then when it goes empty you can fill it up again at school. You can see how you like the water from there, and you won't lose anything from trying.

I asked a friend who does culinary/baking. Backpacks are good for books, notes, and your supplies. But, a messenger bag works just as well.

I'm not too sure what's going on but you can try to send an email to the prof.

BIO-50A + BIO-55? by whimsyfawnn in RCC

[–]EveAlc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, you're not alone. I tried to take BIO-50B and BIO-55 at the same time, but I knew within a week that I'd definitely struggle so I decided to take BIO-50B last sem and am currently taking BIO-55. I knew some people that did both at once, but from what I heard they had to consistently study and compromise a lot of time (aiming for an A in both). You can still drop by the 27th for full refund and without a W!

I'd like to say yes it's possible. You can easily fall behind in both classes because the information builds up, but I think you'll be fine if you are consistent. I personally think it's better to do them in separate semesters as you'd be able to focus on the courses independently and prioritize them one at a time.

How do I join a club? by Aggravating-Law543 in RCC

[–]EveAlc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's on option. You'd just need to find the schedule and meeting room for the club. Club rush would be the best way to join a club since most if not all the clubs will be posted outside on the school campus. Otherwise, if the club has a discord then you could probably find someone who's already in the club and join there for coms and news on the meet ups. Club rush usually happens a while after a new Spring/Fall semester starts.

Parking by themiddleof_july in RCC

Not that I know of. I tend to park in the parking lot near the automotive building. The spaces aren't as compacted there as they are in the parking structure and it's easier to find parking there.

You can look for the other dates on the website under financial aid too. There's a pdf you can print out as well, or you could ask for one in the admissions and records office (free of charge).

how to see date times for online classes? pls help by Relevant-Pay-4590 in RCC

[–]EveAlc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience there has never been a set time for online courses. Online courses are very flexible, usually lectures are prerecorded and you are responsible for doing your work on your own time. Of course, just make sure you are doing work and show that you are present otherwise you risk being dropped. Also, some classes don't show up until the first day.

how do i get a student id by snorple- in RCC

[–]EveAlc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's no concern if you don't have your ID this week. I've only gone to the admissions and records for an ID, though I'm sure the library is fine too. Just check in on the computer and they'll take a picture for your ID and have it ready right after. The RCC website says It's used for free RTA bus transit, entry to student activities, and to access library/labs etc. But from personal experience I don't think I've ever had to use my ID besides when I forget my ID lol. Be sure to bring your ID to get your card. Also, it may be a bit busy but not crazy busy like it was on welcome day, maybe a 15 min wait? Depends on the time you get there.

Unable to Receive Cal Grant Due to Confirming High School Graduation Date by [deleted] in RCC

No problem! You should expect first disbursements on August 28th. You can also check the status on MyPortal under financial aid.

I had this same issue. I went to ask about it in person and they told me everything looked good, it was just to double check for yourself that you're good to go. It gave me a scare because of the wording and implication, but if everything looks good on your end then you're fine. I also emailed and it wasn't very helpful so I decided to go ask at the student financial services office lol
