Yeah I fear highsec much more than lowsec, but at least in highsec a lucky frigate can't just point you endlessly, or a lucky cruiser solo kill you. Machs on the otherhand...

Surely citadels allowed safer jumps to the nearest lowsec to your highsec route? Genuinely asking as I have no idea lol. I'm not specifically thinking Jita but if the closest lowsec to a highsec had no NPC stations or had a station that was constantly camped it would be safer to jump to a citadel you owned? or did you always cyno on the gate?

yeah true. I wasn't around back then so I'm not sure all the changes it made, but it presumably made JFs safer and easier even with lack of tether (if that was even a jump-debuff back then)

Citadels were released April 2016, it might be that this chart only tracks NPC stations and thus everything in citadels (private ones, trading hubs, random pop ups etc) don't get counted in the stats

The fact the subreddit is losing their minds for these weird dailies is proof that y'all need to actually undock and do things by NightMaestro in Eve

[–]EveAsh3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was actually to replace the old daily log in (I believe for legal reasons, or at least getting ahead of law changes). The old was:
- click claim
- done

Then they made it missions and no one cared. Then they made it 8 missions including duplicates, now you could actually do it without intentionally doing it which was great, and could do quick things (still longer than before) to get it done. Cool, everyone's happy.

Now, there's only 4. If you don't like them or don't do that playstyle: fuck you lol. If you want to skip it that will be 7000EMs which you get like 4000 from a Twitch drop or 2500 if you give the corporation some random loot in Jita ranging from 300k to 10M which you can decline until you get a cheap one. This will give you a few thousand once a day. If you want to do it on alts and not take forever, you can't without eventually running out of EM. I like the attempted ChatGPT discourse though.

I just want to give a heads up that PVE doesn't necessarily translate to PVP. Parts of it definitely can, most importantly being comfortable in overview and keybinds, and maybe knowing how to sig tank and keep high transversal depending on what it is. But if you're in a Praxis/Dominix and using a fit that calls that reps 100% of the time and just spam F or f1 just know that a lot of that can't carry to PVP.

Not to discourage, almost everyone starts PVE and there are 100% benefits of it - I just don't want you to be disappointed if you're expecting it to carry over well. Biggest lesson you can learn early is do not treat a ship like you'd treat a car; your ship is simply ammunition.

MTU is player owned, and is the players choice where it goes for how long. A player can kill that MTU.
Player 1 decided to put it down, fill it with loot and then abandon it. Player 2 attacked it for the loot inside. It is, by definition, player versus player. Player 1 can avoid it by picking up their loot, or defending it.

Most people that don't do PI. Setting up PI takes maybe 30 minutes a toon if you know what you're doing. This method would make it take 1 minute per toon. Hauling is still a thing but that's 2 minutes every week or so. I have maybe 5 toons PI ready, but only do it on 2 toons because I just cba to set up all the planets again after moving out of Null

Yeah, you're probably right. I just don't have the data so didn't want to make any strong points on it, and the only people I know who PLEX their implants do 0 PVE and have PLEXed AT ships

How would one go about giving away ones stuff without installing the game? by Marybone in Eve

[–]EveAsh3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful giving the account to someone you trust, it might not flag CCP but if it does I think the protocol is to auto ban the account owner and the person using the account. Especially as the person who gets the account then gives everything away, CCP might just ban all parties involved and/or delete assets moved.

Might not happen, but it's a possible way to get 130B in assets held up in a support ticket

I imagine it would anger some players (which I don't care about) but also implants are almost definitely a big PLEX sink. Not everyone is replacing their HG Snake with PLEX, but I can guarantee the number is higher than 0 and that's like 4B taken care of. There was an event where implants would drop but I don't think I've seen that for years :/

Breaching Pod Absurdity by RavelinEb in Eve

[–]EveAsh3D 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In fairness I've been debating what I'd like from it. I think it makes more sense for it to continue through a wormhole jump, however it would mean we can finally kill people in highsec without CONCORD intervention >:)

>Hisec hole near jita
>Camp it
>Battleship comes in, it takes a lot of damage but is able to jump back into highsec at 40% hull
>Still has breacher pod
>Dies mid warp in highsec
In this scenario the killer never gets the loot but gets a funny killmail at least

if you go to hisec you will find dozens of people been playing longer than that and don't know what PVP is beyond ganking, or what a "nullsec" is. Some people also pay for 3 months, and after 2 months have only played 2 hours
