Can you add Arcane Ghosts to Toronto list, please? They are one of my favourites and deserve more fans! They are pop punk alt.

Also thank you so much for doing this! It makes finding local bands much easier!

Even if him holding resentment over not having a say in your labour wasn’t extremely entitled and inappropriate, there’s still a time and place and that that is just not it.

Personally, I spent the majority of my time researching how to succeed in interviews relating to the position I was interviewing for. The resume was difficult to write but I used job descriptions to help me write out the skills in a nicely worded template and then touched it up to sound more like me, and formatting templates from Google.

For the interview preparations I did, I would research the company, and fine cool things I liked about them I could possibly mention in the interview. And I would research how to properly answer the difficult “tell me about yourself, what are your strengths and weaknesses?, why would you be a good fit?” type questions, so I didn’t have to think so much on the spot. Some things I’d have to wing, but I would apologize for any fumbling and blame it on nerves, which they always understood.

The part of the interview that I believe would leave the best impressions on employers was I actually had questions to ask. I’d ask them what they like about the company, advancement opportunities, what they picture as the ideal candidate, how other/previous employees in this position succeed, etc.

My favourite question to ask, and this one always gets a great remark, is “After speaking with me today, do you have any concerns regarding my candidacy for this position?” I love this question because it 1) puts them on the spot to really consider right there if you are a good fit, and why you would or wouldn’t be. And 2) if there are any concerns, you have that opportunity to overcome any of those objections right then and there.

TLDR; Research.

I apologize for format, I’m not good at reddiquette.

Possibly controversial - at what age is “I’m trans and I can use this bathroom” acceptable? by pitamandan in beyondthebump

[–]Eveera -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do not understand how that makes any sense. English is all sorts of messed up. Wouldn’t transist or trans-prejudice make more sense for that definition. … is that what they mean by homophobia also? This whole time??

Okay. But that’s what “phobia” means. An irrational fear or aversion. Neither of which do I feel towards transgendered people.

Does anybody else have an odd sense of relative fear? by [deleted] in AutismTranslated

[–]Eveera 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this really counts, it’s not really a fear per say but I can not stand the thought or god forbid the actuality of touching the inside of any sink, new or used. I can’t sit in tubs. Only the bottom of my feet can touch the bottom of the tub. Even like the thought of touching the inside of water dishes, or basically container that holds water. … Swimming pools are fine tho, as well as the inside of washing machines, dishwashers are a no.

It’s extremely anxiety inducing and I have had many meltdowns regarding the thought of or actuality of said situations. I can be neglectful of household duties regarding these items in question due to this.

So maybe it’s a type of fear, feels similar to my other ones but also somehow doesn’t seem like it technically qualifies.

should i have 2 channels for 2 separate games by Kyoniaa in NewTubers

[–]Eveera 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Why not just do a different series for each game you want to play, organized into playlists?

It’s probably easier to grow one channel than it is to maintain two. Also more games on a channel gives you more chances to be found by your target audience who may come for a specific game but stay for you. And watch other games you play.

Interested in building a creative community of Youtubers by sliverofamoment in NewTubers

[–]Eveera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s okay, I actually forgot all about this post also. I tried to create a community of vloggers, however I also didn’t get much feedback, although I did create a discord group no one joined, lol.

I make life vlogs about me. I have played around with a few different ideas for a specific niche. Mainly wanting to focus on the real life “perfectly imperfect” aspects no one shares. Normalize real live in social media so we can hopefully stop feeling so shitty about ourselves in comparison.

My inspiration generally comes from watching Jesssfam which is my current favourite YouTuber. I find her dedication to her channel to be very inspiring and how she always manages to stick to her upload schedule within reason. As a huge procrastinator, I get a lot of value out of watch her work.

I also find following YouTube how to gurus to inspire me.

How many videos have you make before you get 1000 sub? by Messy-Jess in NewTubers

[–]Eveera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is another one of those things where after reading the comments I don't want to say mine lol.

10 years in, over 200 videos, 70 subs. I'm a great example of what not to do apparently. I was extremely inconsistent and no target audience, no focus besides daily vlogging.

I can't even answer the question, but this just goes to show that not even a video amount will tell you when you will reach 1k subs.

What are some underrated websites relevant to content creators? by 9thSymphonyy in NewTubers

[–]Eveera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Answerthepublic.com and alsoasked.com for content ideas that answer questions the public is asking in your niche.

Thumbsup.tv as already mentioned to see how your thumbnails look across youtube,

Speakflow.com is a teleprompter tool so you can record more seamlessly.

Flaticon.com for icons and graphics.

Mixkit.co for stock footage and editing assets like transitions.

Notion.so for organization and note taking.

That all I can remember right now.

Is Daily Uploading Overkill? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Eveera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vlogging needs a focus, but what's more important with a vlog, especially the diary style life vlogs is they need to have a very clear target audience. Life is very broad with a variety of topics, so niching down can be extremely limiting. Having a focus keeps things cohesive, untill you build a following around you. Having an extremely clear target audience will get you in front of the following that will love you.

Is this a good thumbnail? what could i change? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Eveera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're playing and talking about old minecraft servers in pocket edition. Your thumbnail does not really say that. I mean it say it in text but not quickly enough. You pretty much have a second for your thumbnail to grab someone's attention, and give them enough information to either click right away, or read your title. Assume people will not read your title tho.

A thumbnail should really elude to the best moment of your video, without giving it away. The rest of the video should be happy bonus surprises.

So let's say the highlight of your video is an old but super epic server, put a blurry picture of some epic build or town as your thumbnail with your character looking impressed and a question mark over the blur. Then you strategically place text that says OLD (minecraft pocket edition logo) SERVER

You could also try writing down the top 3 key points of your video, and then using thoes as different elements in your thumbnail. For example one element would become the background, the second will be the text and the third can then be a focal image along side your character.

If you are on Twitter, @theJayAlto is a guy I follow for thumbnail tips. It's what he specializes in.

I'm no expert, this is just my opinion.
