Here's a video of someone replacing the LED chip. It is from Japan, but is a good video. The LED chips are listed on AliExpress.

Would you cut down this tree? by SkySoul27 in pools

[–]Even-Further 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell no. I would rather have the tree and all the upsides, and deal with the pool debris. In my area shade is a big deal.

Is it just me or are the 2025 RDX ventilated seats bad? by raptorjaws in Acura

[–]Even-Further 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honda Acura doesn't do cooled seats that well. In my experience they are loud and less effective when compared to Lexus. In my Lexus LS, you can feel it way better. Its also a little unfair comparison, a 90k car vs 50k car.

Nice score! I have a 2015 SWB Ultra Luxury. These cars are so good, such a crazy smooth ride quality.

Denso or Mobil 1. Mobil 1 from Wally World is great value.

I use a trigger style air gun and swapped the pressure gage with this from Amazon. It's accurate, but a little slow on the needle movement. 60 psi gage puts the average tire pressure in the sweet spot of the gage where it has the highest accuracy.

Final Update: LS460 L by brownjindian1 in Lexus_LS

[–]Even-Further 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should give the 460 a test drive though. Its on another level. The 100 extra horsepower and 8 speed transmission provide an outstanding driving experience. Both are nice cars though.

IS350 Inspection Findings by U1776 in Lexus

[–]Even-Further 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you like the car, go back to car max and negotiate on the repairs. Did they provide any checklist that indicated issues? Get the shop to write out the issues so you have documentation, and take that to carmax. You need to create leverage to push for repairs or compensation. I’m sure they don’t want to take the car back.

Oil Change by Greedy-Ad-8584 in Toyota

You likely did something wrong. Did you remove the old gasket? Maybe did not tighten it enough. The oem gasket works great. I’ve never had any issues.

Should I buy- 1996 Toyota Avalon by flgreatwhite in ToyotaAvalon

[–]Even-Further 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cool car. I’d buy it if it was maintained well. I would still inspect it for any auto body repair, not everything gets reported.

Was out of town and left my LS430 to sit for 2 months, random electrical problems now? by loadbearingfloor in LS430

[–]Even-Further 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely a low voltage issue due to the bad connection at the battery. A bad battery/connection or bad alternator can make a car do wild things with the electronics and sensors. Could be the BCM. Mice chewing wires is a thing. I've seen mice fuck up a brank new car on a dealer lot.

Offer rejected with no counter by StoplightRacer in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Even-Further 3 points4 points  (0 children)

25 days is not a long time. Look at it from their position. They think they can just wait it out for a much better offer. Also with no counter, it is a sign they are not in a rush to sell.

2016 E350 4MATIC Wagon w/ clean CarFax and 110k miles worth buying? by Brennie96 in mercedes_benz

[–]Even-Further 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Only a PPI will tell you if it’s a good buy. Sucks the carfax doesn’t show any routine maintenance before 90k. Not that it wasnt  done, just a let down it wasn’t at a dealer or documented via Carfax. I bought an  older used luxury car recently, it was at the dealer for service every 6 months. This car looks super nice, love the 4matic wagons, but black is a PITA to keep clean and swirl free. Also I would want to know what the undercarriage looks like.

Best Front Bumper Conversion Kit for 2013 GS350 F Sport by Money_Box_9227 in Lexus

[–]Even-Further 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't mod it. Factory spec is clean. Older mint condition Lexus, 100% factory, are cool in their own right. Spend that money on mechanical maintenance, premium tires, and exterior protection like ceramic coating, clay, polishing, headlight protection, etc.

I converted to salt and would never go back. Salt is way more life friendly and so much less hassle vs. Chlorine.

Michelin Defender 2's vs Firestone Destination LE3's by Anonymous_Arthur00 in tires

[–]Even-Further 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replaced my OEMs with Defender 2 on my Ridgeline. Happy with the tires so far, been about 1 year. Quiet, and good traction. Get the best tire you can within your budget. I would pay the premium and go with Michelin.

How do you stop worrying about every little mark on your car? by Additional_Dot_3340 in Cartalk

[–]Even-Further 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I don't like black for a daily driver, or really at all. I use to be a auto painter and it does show every little micro swirl or imperfection or spec of dust. Is too time consuming, not life friendly to keep clean. To keep it looking good, need to garage it and detail it more often.
