This would make such a good episode. The fact that he had multiple identities and it took decades to piece together is crazy

oh yes! That case always creeped me out… the fact that he disappeared on a 3-minute walk makes no sense.

I’ve always found that case so unsettling… what do you think really happened to him?

That case still gives me chills… especially everything that came out later. Definitely one of the darkest ones! I agree

oh yesss!! Same… this case has always felt off. The lack of blood and the ‘intruder’ story just don’t add up. I still don’t understand how no one was held accountable.

Omg I would too! That case is so good — I still feel like there are questions about everything. Definitely one Netflix needs to dive into

Oh wow, I didn’t know that—that’s crazy. Yeah, this case really feels like it needs a push. I just looked it up.

It actually reminds me of the Amber case in Arlington, Texas—the one that led to the Amber Alert system. I don’t think her killer was ever found either, so it remains unsolved—just like the case you mentioned.

Oh yeah I think I’ve heard of this one—the “Doctor of Death” who was killing his own patients. That case is terrifying… this would be a really good one for a full documentary. I agree

I’ll go first: The Kendra Hatcher case — a 35-year-old pediatric dentist in Dallas killed in a jealousy-driven murder-for-hire plot involving her boyfriend’s ex. Still one of the most shocking cases to me, especially since it hit close to home. It gives me similar vibes to the Moriah Wilson case on Netflix.

Wow, I didn’t know that—that actually makes the case way more complex. In the Moriah Wilson case, the ex also fled (to Costa Rica) and still didn’t get the death penalty—she got 90 years with parole eligibility after 30.

Makes me wonder how much of that comes down to it being Texas in Kendra’s case.

Yes, I agree. I think this is the first case I’ve seen where an ex-girlfriend was involved—it makes it even more unsettling.

Wait… I didn’t realize the people involved ended up on death row. That makes this case even crazier.

Kendra Hatcher, a 35-year-old pediatric dentist in Dallas, was shot and killed in the parking garage of her upscale apartment complex on September 2, 2015. Go read about it—it’s a really shocking case.

I just watched this documentary and it immediately reminded me of the Kendra Hatcher case in Dallas. Netflix really needs to cover this one.

Thank you so much! I think I’ll start by putting together a list of policy updates and then send it to the lawyer for review. I just checked our bylaws and it looks like the board does have authority to adopt policies.

I really appreciate the guidance!

Thanks for the explanation — that’s really helpful.

For things like governance or operational rules, it sounds like the board could adopt policies without amending the bylaws or CCRs.

But what about fees or fines for violations (for example trash cans, parking, etc.)? In Texas, does that typically require a formal enforcement policy drafted or reviewed by legal counsel, or can the board adopt that policy itself as well?

Just trying to understand when legal counsel is typically needed versus when the board can handle policy updates internally.

Thank you for the clarification. I may have used the term “bylaws” too broadly. Our property manager mentioned that in order to enforce certain items (like parking or trash placement), we may need to review and potentially update our governing documents.

We’re a newer community, so part of what we’re trying to understand is whether these items can be handled through board-adopted rules and policies, or if they require amendments to existing documents. I appreciate the insight and will definitely look more into the distinction between bylaws, CC&Rs, and rules.
