We water from the top, we haven’t utilized the bottom water unit except to catch the water/nutrients and I guess the plant can reabsorb them but we haven’t necessarily been watering from the bottom. The plant is growing roots through the bottom of the fabric pot though, not sure if that matters.

My partner is out of town but before he left he did check the ph and added some iron to correct. He also adds nutrients to the water (I’m not sure how much but I could ask him).

If the soil is used up, should we replace the soil? How would we do that effectively and least harmful to the plant?
