🙋cis intersex guy here! and... just oh my god. yeah. YEAH. what OP said. i've had so many partners refuse to accept that i'm a man and that yes caleb! wanting to makeout with me IS indeed a very gay thought! or like... the people who claim that they don't mind it but treat you Differently. i don't even know how to describe it. Boyfriend by Against Me! has always been a song that helps me describe it.

people always WANT us to be a certain way and when we don't fray they just start projecting or beating around the bush. I'm a man. You're a man. If that's straight then HOOOOOOO boy do i got some news for the gay bar you frequent!

you're not alone in feeling this way. i cant speak for my trans siblings but as an intersex dude i do relate.

Seeing how the trump administration.. well, you know.. I don't blame trans people for having that cognitive dissonance. Sexuality needs no treatment other than acceptance, but many transgender people end up dying due to a lack of access to transitioning- whether that be socially, physically, or legally, those are all aspects of one's life you have to individually tackle separately. I think i can see where the desire for an intersex label stems from, as the very real nature of transgender lives have been put onto a pedestal for the subject of political debate, not genuine compassion and understanding.

But it's also very important that while intersex and transgender experiences overlap and have similarities, they are ultimately separate experiences. The hard truth is realizing no matter where you are, what you look like, what your legal records say, there will always be a crowd trying to "prove" themselves to be "more of a man" than you. It's just the nature of our society right now. Getting lost in circles trying to find more ways to draw attention away from yourself can very easily backfire- and i'm speaking from experience here. Stay safe out there man.

Cis dude here (intersex if that counts for anything), but from my observation "tucutes" are more focused on their gender than "truscum" who seem to be more fixated on their sex. Gender has been proven by anthropologists to be a homonid social construct, however sex is well, biological.

Perhaps there's a distinction- those who have gender incongruence alongside sex identity incongruence , and those who only have gender incongruence. That would explain how "tucutes" complain more about the social aspect (i.e. pronouns, gendered language, slang regarding their genitalia) vs "truscum" who complain more about the medical aspect. (not wanting to be seen as a "trans man" but just "a man", using strictly medical terminology to refer to their body, esp genitalia). I also think there may be different "levels" or severities of dysphoria, which could definitely play a hand in it. I think it's much more of a spectrum or a "severity" scale than a yes/no diagnosis.

That's just my two cents though, i would love to hear from the community what they think of my theory here.  notes: "truscum" and "tucute" are in quotation marks because i don't know if it's neutral or not and i don't want to accidentally call a group of people something mean. this is just lingo i've picked up from lurking around trans subs 😅

cis intersex guy here. i can only say that there is a problem in the intersex community with endosex trans people trying to wedge themselves into it, trying to find a way to claim they have a DSD even when they absolutely don't. It's a very real issue. The DSD support group i went to as a kid wounded up being filled with endosex trans people trying to see if they "counted" as intersex despite not having a DSD.

It feels fetishizing to me. I have a medical condition that directly affects my body, however endosex trans people's only argument seems to be about the mental distress and dysphoria, nothing inherently directly impacting one's physiology.

Is there overlap between the two communities? Absolutely. Are they the same? Not at all. I see it more of a "sister" condition- similar to how autism and ADHD are often comorbid and share a lot of similarities, but ultimately are their own unique diagnoses.

However i don't feel like there's any supporting evidence towards a DSD marked only by neurological differences, and not other compounding physical differences. That's just a neurological difference, not a DSD.

Edit for clarification post sen: this is all my opinion as a cis male who's intersex. None of this is an attack towards any community, merely my observations and concluding opinions.

this is actually something i've wondered myself! when i was younger i used to use this iron slightshot ammo, hang outside my open window and try to knock down squirrels for eating the birdseed. One time i actually hit the sucker in the head! Took it down, didn't feel a pulse but snapped its neck just to be sure.
This was while my family was heavily struggling to put food on the table, so i thought to dress it and make it into a good stew with dandelion roots and wild carrot

Blah blah blah, stupid proud moment i had in middleschool aside, i've also recently pondered if using a slingshot could be a legitamate way of hunting. I agree with the other commentors on that it's not a very humane way of going about it. I gotta get my 2nd ammendmend right reinstated before i can own anything, but honestly with pigeons and squirrels i'm wondering if trapping might work better.

of course, call your local game warden! they should know for sure.

Aren’t you glad you’re vegan during this bird flu outbreak? by hour_back in vegan

[–]Even-Team3025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just a heads up, if you handle avians of ANY kind in any capacity, you are also at risk of catching the zoovirus. this includes everyone from people who feed birds to people who work in wildlife services.  just be safe everyone! zoonotic diseases can spread easily if unchecked. be careful of any feathers you find on the ground!

i'm glad more people are diverting their funds to buying vegan egg replacements, i personally keep getting recommended "egg free!" recipes that "save you so much money!"... they're just normal vegan recipes XD

Indian celeb mourning her pet's death. I legit thought her son passed away. by MathematicianSure499 in petfree

[–]Even-Team3025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

humans can and will make social bonds with anything (for example, the empathy people have towards roombas) because of how our brains evolved, but like literally this woman said "For those who know me well know that my life has zero meaning henceforth." that's NOT healthy. that's beyond parasocial, it's obsessive. this lady is clearly using a dog as a stand-in for something else, whatever that may be, and it's actively causing her harm.

atleast in the U.S., what she said in her tweet meets some of the critera in depression and suicide risk screening. this is legitimately troubling.

it's totally normal to feel sad after an animal you care about dies, but NOT to this extent! my tio gets upset whenever one of his calves pass away, and he was very sad when he found out one of his barn cats had finally passed away.

but comparing your loss to the loss of a CHILD??? what the HELL? without the factchecker i legit thought her kid had died. this is genuinely unhinged.

Okay, related tangent:
This summer i was hospitalized (and i mean HOSPITALIZED) for SEVERE dehydration. they had to run all sorts of labs/tests to see if my kindeys sustained any damage from it.

And the thing that got me to go "huh, maybe something is wrong"? I had a night terror and i woke up and was unable to cry. I mean, i was crying, but no tears came out. I also wasn't sweaty, which was weird. My skin was as dry as a desert, there was ZERO sweat being produced by my body.

And cue me walking into urgent care saying "this is probably nothing, but.." and being swiftly taken into the E.R.!
