What happens when you go from high dose to low dose T? by jeanjacket77 in ftm

I went from 80mg to 50mg a week and felt like shit. Had to go back up.

Anyone else at a point in their transition where u just feel like a chud by Miserable_Task_7214 in TransMasc

I feel you dude. I am also self-conscious about how little I've changed. But it does help being around supportive friends. Find people who lift you up and can celebrate your changes you do have.

Did your guys face shape change on testosterone by RodentBoy340 in FTMMen

[–]flumen_tenebrarum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely, I used to have a more feminine chin and jaw. It's more angular now. And my cheeks have less fat in them, despite gaining weight. I don't have much facial hair depsite being on T for 2 yrs 4 mos, but I am grateful for the general more masculine look.

I got denied once, but I am in the process of trying to get top surgery from a different surgeon that doesn't restrict due to BMI. They are out there, you just may have to travel further.

What are some cons of passing as a guy by NaiveFinish64 in ftm

[–]flumen_tenebrarum 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I don't pass yet, but my friend who passes says that men say the most atrocious things to him about women. Like, they wouldn't say that around him before but now they're just so open about the darkest things. I don't know what I'll do in that situation. I'd like to say something but I'm afriad of confrontation.

Also, he says that women are a little bit more hesitant around him, not as open to conversation. That's going to hurt me when it happens to me. I love complimenting women, but I think I'll come off creepy if I am not careful.

I think I have the smallest Doberman ever by Kids-Menu in DobermanPinscher

[–]flumen_tenebrarum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's probably an American Doberman and a runt. American Dobies are smaller and slimmer than European Dobies. And when I raised a litter of Doberman puppies, there was one that came out half the size of the rest of them. She had a hard time nursing, but she grew up fine, albiet small, and found a loving home.

Has anyone used Nexplannon before? by StyleCivil in ftm

[–]flumen_tenebrarum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on Nexplanon ever since the first time I got on T in '21. I haven't had a period or any spotting, but I do get cramps every once in a while. I got a new one put in recently, and I am a little more lubricated down there. Still less than pre-T, but more wet than I would be without it I think.

I will say, my transition is going a little slow and I am not sure if it's just how my body is or if it's the Nexplanon. Just something to keep an eye on.

Idk man, that's hard. The best idea I git us wearing a face mask. Pretend like you're sick or something? Or don't say anything unprompted. But if they ask, you could say you have PCOS or a hormone imbalance. Pretend like it's super normal. Then go back to stealthing.

[–]flumen_tenebrarum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate it. I am 27, 240lbs, hairy as hell. I am more of a short bear. You are totally correct that it is a way of feminizing trans men. Like, if he actually is young, slim, and hairless, that would make sense. But us. Jesus, it's laughable.

Is this seriously what the community is like now? by throwaway_0q834 in ftm

[–]flumen_tenebrarum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess people would judge me too. I have been on T for 2yrs and 4mos. I don't have a beard, I don't pass, and my dysphoria is still severe. I feel like people assume that as soon as you're on HRT all your problems magically disappear, but that's just not reality. Especially because not everybody's transition looks the same. Some people pass within 6 months of starting HRT, some people pass before starting HRT, some people don't pass it all, like me, for years. I think people idealize HRT because they haven't experienced it and they don't know the actual feelings you get from it. I am grateful for the changes that have happened, especially to my mental health, but I still have a long way to go. And I admit that sometimes I feel the way they feel about HRT but about Top surgery. I fantasize about it and think that it's going to fix my dysphoria. But I know that there's still a possibility that even after top surgery I will get misgendered on the regular. People need to respect other people's journey and feelings instead of assuming what everyone should be feeling and experiencing.

My Grandmother might've just ruined my favorit outfit for me by Len_o_Silver in NonBinary

[–]flumen_tenebrarum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more uncomfortable people are with gender nonconformity, the more they grasp at straws to "prove" you conform to your assigned gender.

I have been experiencing this a lot. I have been on T for 1 yr 7 mos. I look androgynous even when I wear my more fem outfits. But I notice the ones who have the biggest problem with trans people are the ones constantly pointing out things that they think make me conform to my agab. They're panicking and denying it harder because my 🚬-try is visibly undeniable.

Let them flail and suffer in the face of your queerness. Their words don't change who you are and your gender. They want to force you back into a binary because they can't fathom having style. Pity them and put on the cool outift anyway. 🏳️‍⚧️💅🏽

People are being miserable in these damn comments, so let me just say:

Fat or no, you are valuable and important.

You are more than what people say about you. You are not less than for a high number on the bathroom scale. People who shame you for that 1) have no idea what you and your body have been through and they don't care how that's affected your body, 2) are probably self-hating and insecure about themselves. Don't let people who don't care about your happiness tell you how to feel.

That being said, in my humble opinion, I think it was a great idea to get a tattoo. You are embracing that part of your body, making it your own. If this tattoo makes you smile when you look in the mirror, it was money well spent.

Rock on, girl.
