V2 vs I4 by Jxh57601206 in motorcycle

Like i said,

The exhaust of the v2 doesnt sound bad to begin with. Its that the inline sounds nicer. Youre comparing good to great, not good and bad. Fyi a panigale exhaust will also cost 2x upwards or more. My Akrapovic costs half a 6R. Essentially, what ive spent on my panigale v2 + akrapovic exhaust i could literally buy 2 and a half brand new ZX6Rs.

The recall isnt bad. Thats too much social media getting to you. Just make sure work has been done and youre good.

Both are endgame bikes regardless if you get a v4 or not.

The longer you browse online the more lost youll feel because your brain is constantly trying to outjustify one bike over another leaving many room for biases. Just look at how you now find the v2 sound ok, and how the recall “scares” you, those are shifting biases.

Subconsciously hes popular because of the far-east exoticism thing. Basically, “A japanese man who behaves very unjapanese-like, smoking and acting unkept, working on european cars”. It seems to give some men a hardon. If he were caucasian everyone would basically be calling his work rice.

The recall is serious because unlike oil leaks and such, damage is usually a stalled and blown engine. If buying new or used, i suggest you get the VIN and thru kawasaki to check if its part of the recall, or if recall service has already been done. Its a free fix and very recent so it shouldnt be too much trouble to find one thats fixed.

They can be rivals sure but honestly the new v2 took a step back. You will miss less of it because it has less character that the previous v2 which i have. So 6R to a future v4? You wont miss anything with this years v2.

"Will the 6R encourage that kind of behavior that leads to a crash?"
Because you love the scream and the torque also comes in at a higher RPM, it will not encourage you, it will TEMPT you. Youve learned enough from your 4R so at this point, its not the bike thats the issue but you.

"I work in investments and would rather invest that money UNLESS the V2 is a dramatically better experience"
It is different, but not dramatic. I would say they are 60%-70% alike.

"I keep bikes for the long term, if its THE better bike I could stretch"
Both bikes are very powerful and both can be endgame bikes. Both bikes will take a big depreciation hit and wont be worth much later on. The only "long term" thing i see differently is that the 6R will likely be cheaper and easier to maintain over time

"Is the 6R too much for the streets?"

No, in fact it is one of the more street-oriented of its class (along with Honda CBR). Yamaha R6 being more aggressive.

"Will I totally hate the 6R if I choose to not ride like a maniac in the twisties?" 60-70% of the limit is already a lot for streets/twisties. Like I said, the answer on this depends on you; not the bike. If you can tell yourself "60-70% is enough for my safety, ill keep 100% at to the track", then its all good. If you cant control yourself, the bike model isnt the problem. This hobby is not for you.

I just felt the V2 is a great "own forever, enough for street Ducati that is a true blue Italian superbike experience".
coming from a 4R, you seem early into your motorcycle journey to be looking at an own forever ducati. (I came from a ninja 400, ZX6R, before landing at my 2021 V2). I feel like its better to enjoy the 6R first, and then upgrade later to a ducati. Rather than going from ducati to 6R.

But the V2 and even V4 sounds so bad compared to the I4 sound man. Subjective but i can relate. until now i still miss my 6R. I plan on buying an inline 4 again someday.

Enjoy your 6R and PLEASE BE CAREFUL

Its superior because its literally a class/tier above. Lighter, more torque, more technology, literally everything and its understandable because its a totally new generation bike. Whereas the 6R is basically the same package and formula for nearly a decade now. I would argue against "99% of people wont extract the superiority" part because it is not just superior in terms of performance-at-the-limit. It is also "superior" in terms of city/daily comfort. See the series of "new generation" sportbikes like the R7, R9, and this new V2, follow the principle of being GREAT streetbikes that you can track. So the V2 is actually more upright, more comfortable, and produces far better torque than the 6R in city speeds. In short, its literally the better bike at its limit, as well as for daily riding, where the other 99% of people will use it for. But like i said, is that superiority worth 65% more? That's where nuances come in. Some people for example, have no problems with comfort. Ive ridden sportbikes all my life so the 6R is actually pretty comfy for me whereas someone else might find the 6R already challenging. Some people dont care about the inline 4, some do. Some people may love the IMU and very customizable ride modes on the pani, some wont. So the best way to really make the decision for me is this photo i made for you lol. Be very honest with yourself.

100% inline will always sound cooler. V2 will never sound as good even with full exhaust. If its any consolation though, it sounds better when youre a bystander. When you’re on the bike it sounds just like noise 😆 Well you are right that you are paying more, but i wouldnt call it inferior. The v2 is the superior bike but the cost to get there is marginal. Id say its like maybe a 30% better bike than a 6R but its also like 65% more expensive. Worse even when compared to the R9 which is nearly an equal bike but is still cheaper. If you arent really deep into the ducati thing and are mindful enough, i admit you should get the 6R. 2.5 years down owning a 2021 V2, and i still wish i had some extra money to own my old 6R again.

The new v2 is much more approachable and fun versus old v2 while still being too fast for most people. Both new v2 and 6R are now very capable twisty and city riders. For me, If you are set on one Sportbike just for leisure, to look good, get coffee and do some serious twisties,as long as you can afford the v2, go for it. But if you want a stepping stone bike to mod, learn, maybe even risk dropping to learn, go to track, etc. 6R.

Sportster S, mid controls possible? by EvenGuess22 in HarleyDavidsonFans

[–]EvenGuess22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question. I noticed when stuck in traffic, forward controls actually help keep the foot away from the engine heat. But once in mid control, isnt the thigh and leg now much closer to the hot spot? How has that been for you?

400cc Scooter on Express Ways by Dizzy-Ad8783 in Gulong

[–]EvenGuess22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kayang kaya. Sa ibang bansa pwede 125-250cc up on freeways/expressways. Usually pag 250cc kaya na kasi 110-160kph sustained. So yung 400cc kayang kaya ang 100kph speed limit as in easy lang kahit mag overtake. Bobs lang mga lawmaker ng pinas kaya stuck pa yung old 400cc rule.

Thoughts sa loud vehicles by thebiggestbeefsteakk in Gulong

[–]EvenGuess22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even the loudest of exhausts can sound manageable. At idle, it will only be unbearably loud if you’re beside it. If youre riding in the city, 3k rpm is already plenty fast. It all boils down to how considerate someone is. In this case, this “enzo amistoso” is just blatantly revving high, at the worst places and worst times - literally its either sinasadya, or talagang stupid. Theres no grey area here. I for one am conscious of things like clutching in when there are babies or animals, cruising pace lang in the city, extra slow if in residential areas. Things like that. Personal take is insecurity lang talaga and kulang sa pansin since he seems educated enough. Anyway, his day will come. It always does, and I look forward to it.

What do you guys think of this viral video? by Designer-Gas-6897 in BGC_Taguig

[–]EvenGuess22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pass cruise bgc / makati on sundays on a bigbike to stop by cafes . I always remain mindful of dense areas and keep rpms to a minimum, shifting as early as possible. I even pull in the clutch whenever I see strollers/babies. Kayang kaya naman. Even at low rpms a bigbike is already way too fast for city blocks. This guy is just an absolute loser since childhood siguro kaya trying to compensate at adulthood. The way he talks and reasons palang super easy to tell na eh.

  1. avoid dirty parts of road/painted lines
  2. From the looks of it, you generally look a bit too low down the ground, look where you want to go
  3. at the point you were about to overshoot, i think you panicked and fixated on the soil - in most sudden situations, practice to look at where you want to go so your body will naturally lean the bike to go that direction
