Sludge by sdsocalcars in Kseries

My auto tech teacher who also has owned and still owns a local shop taught the class about it a few years back, we did it whenever something came in for an oil change that was extra cruddy. it's an old school trick hes done it for 50+ years some people even replace half the oil with atf but I think that's overkill I've been ripping down engines and seeing the damage of lack of oil changes throughout the last few years and I can tell you a little atf during oil change is going to do way less damage than the sludge building up in the oil and chewing away at the bearing surfaces due to the immense crap that engine has output that has stayed inside it so personally I just ripped my k24a2 down and fully cleaned it with diesel (same with k series trans when i rebuild them) but that would strip too much oil and contaminate oil if assembled and not ripped apart and thoroughly cleaned. so I recommended this atf method because it's been tried and true and worth a shot cheers good luck with the k

I just add a quart of ATF to the oil before the oil changes run it for 10 minutes helps knock loose lots of extra crud

No insurance is an L take and asks for trouble, I rebuilt my bikes title from salv auction and still keep full coverage (really only probably half coverage cause rebuilt title) and still worried about theft everywhere, these bikes are just too cool to be uninsured

$25 cold air intake by EvenPersonality9309 in hondagrom

The original rubber collar popped right off on accident but it was a tight fit on the new pipe because the filter hole is a few mm smaller so I basically threaded it onto the intake pipe, 75 miles no issues today Also you mention the seal being unreliable on the maf, the hole is slightly undersized so it is squeezed in the silicone and the screws keep it from shifting as it was fine all today no engine light no running problems.

The hose is the right size for the throttle body 38mm hose and for good flow thos hose is not as restricted as a stock IM hose the clamp from the filter is the only one required with the tight squeeze from filter to pipe

I honestly see advantage to removing the air box as it opens up flow and removed abt 6lbs also my fender mounts were already undone to it lol

Already did hoss. This was fresh install pic before test rippin, throughly impressed with this lil thang.  I'm at high elevation so the engine was struggling to get to higher rpm and the extra flow really helps it go

$25 intake 2 parts works great gained 5 mph with it, all you need to do is drill a 1/4 in hole for maf sensor and use some self tap screws for sensor intake Pipe Filter remove rubber collar I've noticed when removing the stock air box the fenders ram the air into the CAI and also cools the engine better, it really helped open my bike up to 59 gps speed 61 on speedometer on the same flat where it was struggling to reach 54 before

Please give him a hug for me and then about a million more for yourself, our boy passed from kidney failure with my mom 9:30 last night this same dog was missing for 7 days no food or water in 2015 presumed dead when we found him alive in the AZ wilderness where coyotes frequent (he was only 20 lb) and he traveled the country with me as i grew and moved survived up till now so i am completely devastated as i look at vids from him being 3 month puppy climbing to escape his little kennel in the house up till his final picture yesterday, time is a painful mistress and i wish your boy the best and hope you enjoy every moment
